Objective: The closed management of the university led to the depression of medical students who were under pressure for a long time during the normalization of the epidemic. The purpose of this study was to explore the depressive symptoms of medical students and their influencing factors; To further explore the interaction between various influencing factors of medical students and provide effective strategies and scientific basis for preventing depression and promoting their mental health. Methods: This study conducted a cross-sectional study on 427 medical students from a medical university in Liaoning Province from March 30,2022 to May 24,2022.Using the convenient sampling method, the depression symptom scale, learning burnout scale, sleep disturbance scale and resilience scale were used to evaluate the depression symptoms, learning burnout, sleep disturbance and resilience of medical students.Compare the differences between groups of depressive symptoms under different conditions(T-test and ANOVA);To explore the relationship between depression symptoms of medical students and various research factors(Spearman correlation analysis);PROCESS macro for SPSS was used to test the mediating effect of sleep disturbance on learning burnout and depression symptoms of medical students and the regulatory effect of resilience in the whole model. Results: The average score of depressive symptoms of medical students was 3.70 ±4.87;The depressive symptoms of medical students were positively correlated with learning burnout and sleep disturbance(r=0.515,0.573,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with resilience(r=-0.565,P<0.01);Sleep disturbance plays an incomplete mediating role between learning burnout and depression(a*b(BCa 95% CI)= 0.131(0.084,0.187));Resilience plays a moderating role in learning burnout and depressive symptoms, learning burnout and sleep disturbance, and sleep disturbance and depressive symptoms(β=-0.126;-0.078;-0.113).Conclusion: The above research results emphasize the mediating role of sleep disturbance in the influence of learning burnout on depression symptoms of medical students. That is,learning burnout can not only directly affect medical students’ depressive symptoms, but also affect medical students’ depressive symptoms through Sleep disturbance.Resilience,as a positive psychological resource,is also one of the protective factors to alleviate the depressive symptoms of medical students. It can reduce the impact of learning burnout and sleep disturbance on depressive symptoms, that is,learning burnout and sleep disturbance have more significant impact on the depressive symptoms of medical students with low resilience. This shows that education and counseling support are needed to improve students’ resilience, alleviate their learning burnout and sleep disturbance, and improve their mental health. |
