The problem of population aging is no longer a unique social problem in developed countries. With the continuous advancement of China’s modernization process, according to the data of the seventh national census of the State Council, the proportion of people aged 60 and above in China has reached 18.7%.Senile sarcopenia is an age-related syndrome. With the increase of age,it shows the gradual weakening and loss of muscle mass and function. The main clinical feature is the loss of muscle mass and strength, which leads to the decline of physical function.Studies have shown that exercise has a positive intervention effect on the senile sarcopenia. As the essence of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)health preservation,Duanjin combines the basic principles of physiology and TCM,and has health preservation effects such as strengthening strength and dredging meridians. However, there is little According to the diagnostic criteria established by Asian Myopenia Working Group(AWGS)in 2019,a community-based public welfare screening program for Myopenia was conducted in Xinsi Village,Xinwu Village,Quanxintang Community, and Batang Village of Xianggang,Yuetang District,Xiangtan City,Hunan Province.A total of 487 subjects were screened, and 73 subjects were diagnosed with Myopenia, with a prevalence rate of 14.9%.In the experiment,26 subjects with muscular dystrophy and 13 healthy subjects without muscular dystrophy met the screening conditions were randomly selected and divided into Baduanjin intervention group(n=13),positive blank control group(n=13),and aged group with non-muscular dystrophy(n=13).The experimental cycle of Baduanjin intervention was 12 weeks, three times a week, one hour’s Baduanjin intervention each time and one health knowledge promotion activity every2 weeks. The subjects were examined for key markers before and after the intervention:(1)Muscle quality: upper limb, lower limb, trunk, total muscle quality, skeletal muscle mass index(SMI),upper arm muscle circumference, forearm muscle circumference, thigh muscle circumference, and calf muscle circumference;(2)Muscle strength: upper limb grip strength;(3)Functional manifestations of physical activity include walking speed test,standing-walking test(TGUG),and simple body function evaluation(SPBB).Findings:Changes in muscle strength: The muscle strength data of Baduanjin intervention group, the non-oligomyopathy aged group and the positive blank control group before and after intervention showed no statistical difference within the group(P >0.05).Grip strength data were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The analysis of covariance between groups of muscle strength data showed that there was no statistical significance among the three groups(P > 0.05).Muscle quality changes: In Baduanjin intervention group, the differences in muscle content of upper limb, lower limb, trunk, limb and skeletal muscle index before and after the intervention were significantly increased(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the muscle circumference of upper arm, forearm, thigh and calf before and after the intervention(P > 0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in upper limb muscle content, lower limb muscle content, trunk muscle content, total muscle content of four limbs, skeletal muscle mass index, upper arm muscle circumference, forearm muscle circumference, thigh muscle circumference, and calf muscle circumference in the aged group with non-muscular dystrophy before and after intervention(P > 0.05).Upper limb muscle, lower limb muscle, trunk muscle, total limb muscle, and skeletal muscle mass index all dropped significantly(P < 0.05)in the positive blank control group. The differences in the circumference of upper arm muscle, forearm muscle, thigh muscle and calf muscle before and after intervention were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The muscle content in the upper limb, the upper arm muscle circumference, and the lower leg muscle circumference of the elderly group with non-muscular dystrophy were all higher than those in the positive blank control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Upper limb muscle, lower limb muscle, trunk muscle, total limb muscle, and skeletal muscle index were all higher in the Baduanjin intervention group than in the positive blank control group, with statistically significant changes(P<0.05).Changes of physical activity performance: SPPB score,standing-walking test and walking speed test in Baduanjin intervention group showed significantly higher differences within the group before and after the intervention(P < 0.05).The SPPB score and the stand-up-walk test in the non-oligomyopathy aged group were not significantly different within the group before and after the intervention(P > 0.05).In the positive blank control group, the SPPB scores were all significantly decreased before and after the intervention(P < 0.05),and the walking speed test and the standing-walking time were significantly increased(P < 0.05).The stand-up and walk times in the non-muscular dystrophy aged group were significantly lower than those in the positive blank control group, according to an inter-group covariance analysis of the physical activity data(P < 0.05).The Baduanjin intervention group’s SPPB scores and standing-walking abilities were both higher than the positive blank control group’s,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)After 12 weeks of exercise intervention,it was found that in terms of muscle quality,it was found that the muscle strength of Baduanjin intervention group had no significant significance, indicating that the 12 weeks of Baduanjin exercise had little influence on muscle strength; In terms of muscle quality,it was found that the upper limb muscle content, lower limb muscle content, trunk muscle content, total limb muscle volume and skeletal muscle index of Baduanjin intervention group were significantly higher than those of the positive blank control group, which indicated that 12 weeks of Baduanjin exercise could improve the muscle quality of the elderly with myopathy. In terms of physical activity performance,it was found that Baduanjin intervention group was superior to the positive blank control group in standing-up and walking test and walking speed SPPB score. It shows that the 12-week Baduanjin exercise can improve the physical activity of the elderly with sarcopenia.(2)At the same time, after 12 weeks in the positive blank control group, the upper limb muscle content, lower limb muscle content, trunk muscle content, total limb muscle volume, skeletal muscle mass index,SPPB score, and standing-up and walking test all showed a downward trend, which indicated that the muscle mass loss and physical activity ability of the elderly with myopathy decreased significantly without exercise intervention.
