Objective:This study aims to explore the clinical efficacy of Su’s orthopedic manipulation in treating Lumbar Facet Joint Disorder, uncover its mechanisms of action, provide an effective theoretical basis for clinical treatment, and offer new diagnostic and therapeutic ideas and approaches for Lumbar Facet Joint Disorder. Methods:A total of 72 patients with Lumbar Facet Joint Disorder who met the inclusion criteria were selected from the Kunming Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital between October 2021 and October 2022.The patients were divided into an observation group of 36 cases and a control group of 36 cases using a statistical random controlled grouping method. In the observation group, the treatment was performed using the Su’s orthopedic manipulation in southern Yunnan, while in the control group, the treatment was performed using the orthopedic manipulation technique described by Wang Hualan in the book "Tuina Therapeutics".The treatment duration for each session was approximately 15-25 minutes, with one session per week and a total of four sessions constituting the complete treatment course. The differences in the VAS,JOA,and ROM scores between the two groups were evaluated before and after the treatment,as well as at 1 week and the end of the total treatment course.Statistical analysis and comparison of the data were performed using SPSS 26.0 software to objectively assess the clinical efficacy of the two groups.Result:(1)Acomparative analysis of gender, age, duration of illness, and pre-treatment VAS,JOA,and ROM scores between the two groups showed no statistically significant differences(P>0.05),indicating that the data were comparable.(2)A comparison of the post-treatment VAS,JOA,and ROM scores between the two groups showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05),indicating that both treatment methods had a clinical effect.(3)After completing the total treatment course,a comparison of the VAS,JOA,and ROM scores between the two groups showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The overall treatment efficacy was compared as follows: the observation group had a prominent cure rate of 63.89% and an overall effective rate of 94.44%,while the control group had a prominent cure rate of 38.89% and an overall effective rate of 88.89%(P=0.020<0.05).These results had statistical significance, indicating that the observation group had better overall treatment effectiveness compared to the control group.Conclusion:(1)Both Su’s orthopedic manipulation in southern Yunnan and regular orthopedic manipulation have clinical therapeutic effects on Lumbar Facet Joint Disorder.(2)The prominent cure rate and overall effective rate of Su’s orthopedic manipulation in southern Yunnan were higher than those of the regular orthopedic manipulation group, indicating that Su’s orthopedic manipulation in southern Yunnan has significant therapeutic efficacy.Clinical data demonstrate its effectiveness and safety, providing validation and evidence for the clinical application of Su’s orthopedic manipulation in southern Yunnan. This technique is worth learning from and promoting.
