Research On The Dilemma And Strategy Of Urban Empty Nesters In The Context Of Healthy Aging

Since China entered the aging society in the 21 st century,the number of elderly people has increased year by year.At the same time,with the acceleration of the "four modernizations" process,the empty nester group has gradually become the focus of social attention.As a result,China’s aging work has also begun to focus on the stage of "healthy aging and active aging",and great attention is paid to the mental health and spiritual needs of the elderly group.As a kind of pension model aimed at meeting the spiritual needs of the elderly,including the self-satisfaction of the subjective spiritual needs of the elderly,as well as the objective spiritual support of the elderly from the family,community,government and other external parties,the spiritual pension has a significant positive correlation on the spiritual life and mental health of the empty nest elderly group.The physical and mental health of empty nesters is not only related to the vital interests of the elderly,but also related to the country’s economic growth potential,which profoundly affects the healthy and sustainable development of the economy and society.In view of this,in the context of an aging society,actively coping with the aging of the population,promoting healthy aging,and focusing on solving the dilemma of the spiritual elderly of urban empty nesters have become important issues to be solved urgently to achieve high-quality economic and social development in the new era.Based on the existing research results and objective data analysis in the academic circles,based on Maslow’s theory of needs and Marx’s theory of human spiritual needs,this study innovatively based on the perspective of healthy aging,comprehensively uses data analysis method,interview method,literature method and comprehensive analysis method to deeply analyze the current situation and causes of mental care for urban empty nesters.The results show that at present,the empty nesters in urban areas in China have difficulties such as weak self-spiritual pension ability,weakened family spiritual pension function,lack of social spiritual pension conditions,and insufficient government spiritual pension security.The reasons for this mainly include the lack of endogenous motivation of the urban empty nest elderly group,the normalization of family support "vacuum",the prominent shortcomings of social supply-side services,and the imperfect government protection.Based on this,in order to effectively alleviate the dilemma of the spiritual pension of urban empty nesters in China,the following suggestions are put forward: at the individual level,improve the spiritual self-support ability of urban empty nesters;At the family level,strengthen the main functions and responsibilities of spiritual old-age care;At the social level,cultivate characteristic projects for spiritual old-age care;At the government level,strengthen the construction of spiritual old-age guarantees.The spiritual pension system constructed by individuals,families,society and the government can satisfy the spiritual needs of more urban empty nesters,get more spiritual support,and truly realize the urban empty nesters’ "old age,old fun,old learning,old and active",and improve the sense of gain,happiness and security of empty city nesters.
