| Objective To observe the effect of radiofrequency hyperthermia and ultrashort wave therapy on the expression of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in serum and cartilage histomorphology of rabbits with knee osteoarthritis(KOA),and to explore the partial mechanism of radiofrequency hyperthermia and ultrashort wave therapy in the treatment of KOA and compare their therapeutic effects. Methods Eight of 34 New Zealand white rabbits were selected as blank group by random number table method, and the remaining 26 rabbits were made KOA model by modified Hulth method.Six weeks after operation,2 rabbits from 26 model rabbits were randomly selected to verify the success of the model, and the remaining 24 KOA model rabbits were randomly divided into model group, ultrashort wave treatment group and radiofrequency hyperthermia group. The next day after successful modeling, the blank group and model group were not given intervention, ultrashort wave treatment group was given ultrashort wave treatment, radiofrequency thermotherapy group was given radio frequency thermotherapy intervention,a total of 2 courses of treatment. On the next day after treatment, the rabbits were killed by air embolization. The expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The gross morphology of articular cartilage was scored by Pelletier score. The right medial femoral condyle was taken for histological section and hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,and the cartilage histopathology was scored by Mankin score.SPSS26.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results 1.The expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in the serum of rabbits in each group:compared with the blank group, the expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in the model group increased(P<0.05),while the expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in the ultrashort wave treatment group and radiofrequency hyperthermia group decreased compared with the model group(P<0.05).Compared with ultrashort wave treatment group, the expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in serum of radiofrequency hyperthermia group were lower(P<0.05).2.Pelletier score and Mankin score of articular cartilage in each group: compared with the blank group, the Pelletier score and Mankin score of articular cartilage in the model group increased(P<0.05),while the Pelletier score and Mankin score of articular cartilage in ultrashort wave treatment group and radiofrequency hyperthermia group decreased compared with the model group(P<0.05).Compared with ultrashort wave treatment group, the Pelletier score and Mankin score of articular cartilage in radiofrequency hyperthermia group were lower(P<0.05).Conclusion 1.Both radiofrequency hyperthermia and ultrashort wave therapy have therapeutic effects on KOA,and their mechanism may be related to the decrease of the expression of IL-1β and TNF-α in serum and the repair of injured articular cartilage.2.Radiofrequency hyperthermia is more effective than ultrashort wave therapy in the treatment of KOA. |
