Objective:In this study,by randomized controlled method, takes subjects with trigeminal neuralgia as the research object to observe the clinical efficacy of “The method of needling sphenopalatine ganglion” and traditional acupuncture in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, aiming to provide a stable,cost-effective and reliable acupuncture treatment for trigeminal neuralgia patients.Method:By using the random number table of the statistical software, sixty patients with trigeminal neuralgia who met the inclusion criteria of this subject were randomly divided into the traditional acupuncture group as the control group and the sphenopalatine ganglion acupuncture acupuncture+ traditional acupuncture group as the experimental group, with 30 cases in each group. In the control group, such acupoints as Sibai,Xiaguan,Dicang,Zhuzhu,Taichong and Neiting were selected,in addition, the first one selected Yangbai, the second one selected Quanliao,Juliao, the third one selected Chengjiang,Jiache,And the experimental group,on this basis, added the sphenopalatine ganglion as the main point.Operation method:After routine disinfection of acupoints, the acupuncture method of the control group was referred to the standardized textbook on Meridian and Collaterals and acupoints of the “13th Five-Year Plan”.After the qi was obtained by lifting, inserting, twisting and turning, all were treated with reducing method, the needle was left for 30 min each time The sphenopalatine ganglion in the experimental group was operated with0.30mm×60mm disposable sterile needle with acupuncture standard.Acupuncture was performed at about 55 mm.If the acupuncture sensations such as electric shock, acid, numbness, swelling and pain were transmitted to the face, nose or upper lip,the injection was stopped. The reducing method is applied, and the acupuncture manipulation is appropriate to avoid nerve injury. The acupoints were selected according to the location of the disease.Except the sphenopalatine ganglion, needling at other points was performed according to the control group, and the needles were left for 30 min each time. The two groups were treated once a day,6 times for 1 course of treatment, and the interval of treatment was 1 day.A total of 3 courses were treated. After treatment, pain frequency,VAS visual analog score, pain symptom score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)were selected as observation indexes.Effective indexes were recorded after 3 treatment courses and then included in the database for statistical analysis.By comparing the index of the two groups before and after the treatment, the difference of clinical efficacy between “The method of sphenopalatine ganglion” and traditional acupuncture method was observed.Results:1.Comparison of baseline data between the experimental group and the control group: Before treatment, gender, age and course of patients were respectively compared between the experimental group and the control group.Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups, indicating that the two groups were comparable.2.Comparison of the evaluation scale data between the experimental group and the control group before treatment: before the treatment, the pain frequency,VAS visual analog score, pain symptom score and self-rating anxiety form(SAS)were respectively compared between the two groups.Statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the two groups, indicating that the two groups were comparable.3.After treatment, the comparison of evaluation scale data between the the experimental group and the control group: After treatment, the pain frequency,VAS visual analog score, pain symptom score and self-evaluation anxiety scale(SAS)of the two groups were changed, and there were differences between the two groups(P<0.05),and the experimental group was significantly better than the control group.4.Comparison of the overall clinical efficacy between the the experimental group and the control group : after 3 courses of treatment, the significant efficiency of the experimental group was 76.77% and the efficitive rate was 90.00%.However,the significant efficiency of the control group was 46.67% and the effective rate was 80.00%,Statistical analysis showed that the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both the method of needling sphenopalatine ganglion and the traditional acupuncture method are effective in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.2.“The method of needling sphenopalatine ganglion” is superior to traditional acupuncture in reducing the frequency of pain attacks, relieving pain, regulating anxiety emotional state and improving subjective symptoms, which improves clinical basis for selecting a better acupuncture method for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
