Effects Of Negative Life Events On Suicidal Ideation:A Chain-Mediated Role Of Meaning In Life And Cognitive Fusion

The high prevalence rate of adolescent depression will cause serious damage to individuals and society.Suicidal ideation is the motivation of suicidal behavior and plays a predictive role in the future suicidal behavior.Therefore,it is important to pay attention to the risk factors and protective factors of suicidal ideation to reduce the occurrence of suicidal ideation.At present,there is no conclusion on the mechanism of suicidal ideation in adolescent depression.Negative life events,cognitive integration and sense of meaning of life are thought to play a key role in the occurrence and development of suicidal ideation.In order to investigate the status quo of negative life events,cognitive integration,sense of meaning of life and suicidal ideation in adolescents with depression,explore the influence of negative life events on suicidal ideation and the mediating role of cognitive integration and sense of meaning of life in adolescents with depression.231 adolescents with depression were tested using the Adolescent Life Events Scale,the Cognitive Integration Questionnaire,the Sense of Meaning in Life Scale,the Chinese version of the Baker Suicide Ideation Scale and the second edition of the Chinese Baker Depression Scale.SPSS26.0 was used for data entry,sorting and statistical analysis.Statistical methods included descriptive statistical analysis,independent sample T test,one-way analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediation effect test.The following results are obtained:1.The negative life events,cognitive integration and suicidal ideation of adolescent depressed subjects were all at a high level.2.The scores of negative life events and suicidal ideation of adolescent depression subjects were significantly lower in male students than in female students,and their sense of life meaning was significantly higher in male students than in female students;Negative life events and suicidal ideation score showed significant age difference.The younger the group,the higher the score,the older the sense of life,the higher the score.There was a significant difference between the sense of meaning of life and suicidal ideation.The higher the level of education,the higher the score of meaning of life,the lower the score of suicidal ideation;The scores of negative life events and suicidal ideation were significantly different in family economic conditions.The better the family economic conditions,the lower the scores.3.Negative life events were significantly correlated with cognitive integration,sense of life meaning and suicidal ideation.Cognitive integration was significantly associated with sense of meaning and suicidal ideation.Sense of meaning in life was significantly associated with suicidal ideation.4.Negative life events can directly affect suicidal ideation or indirectly affect the level of suicidal ideation through three pathways,namely,the separate mediating effect of cognitive fusion,the separate mediating effect of sense of meaning,and the chain mediating effect of cognitive fusion and sense of meaning,accounting for 29%,8.7% and 9.5% of the total effect,respectively.Based on the above results,this study draws the following conclusions: the negative life events,cognitive integration and suicidal ideation of adolescent depressed subjects are at a high level;Negative life events were correlated with cognitive integration,sense of meaning and suicidal ideation.Negative life events can directly affect suicidal ideation,and can also affect suicidal ideation level of adolescents with depression through cognitive fusion and sense of meaning.Therefore,in the prevention and treatment of suicidal ideation in adolescents with depression in the future,it is necessary to pay attention to negative life events,actively adjust the level of cognitive integration,improve individual mental health status from the level of improving psychological flexibility and sense of life meaning,to prevent and reduce the generation and development of suicidal ideation.
