| ObjectiveTo understand the current online health information seeking behavior of older patients with coronary heart disease and analyze its influencing factors.Under the theoretical model of information motivation behaviour skills,we constructed the structural equation model of each variable of older patients’ online health information seeking behaviour with coronary heart disease. We analyzed the action path between each variable in the model and online health information seeking behaviour. The aim is to provide a theoretical basis for accurate intervention and health decision-making.MethodsUsing the stratified random sampling method,510 older patients with coronary heart disease from 6 communities in Qingdao from July 2021 to May 2022.We used a General data questionnaire,a Coronary Heart Disease knowledge Cognition questionnaire,Online Health Information seeking behaviour scale,a patient Activation scale,Social support rating scale and a General self-efficacy scale to conduct the questionnaire survey. We use SPSS25.0,AMOS24.0 software and PROCESS program for statistical analysis.Independent sample t-tests and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the online health information seeking behaviour of older patients with coronary heart disease. We used Pearson correlation analysis to explore the online health information seeking behaviour, coronary heart disease knowledge, patient activation, social support and self-efficacy in older patients with coronary heart disease. And multiple linear regression analysis was used for multivariate analysis.Construct and verify the structural equation hypothesis model and clarify the action mechanism between variables.Results1.In this study,we collected 492 valid questionnaires. The score of online health information seeking behavior of older patients with coronary heart disease was(60.40 ±8.31),which was low.2.Univariate analysis showed that gender,age,education,pre-retirement occupation, household registration, monthly income, marital status,a form of health insurance, number of chronic diseases,Internet use, frequency of Internet use and health status had significant effects on Internet health information seeking behaviour in older patients with coronary heart disease(P<0.05).3.The correlation analysis results showed a significant correlation between online health information seeking behaviour, coronary heart disease knowledge, patient activation, social support and self-efficacy(r=0.251,0.640,0.451,0.530,P<0.01).4.Linear regression analysis showed that residence, education, monthly income, occupation before retirement, frequency of Internet use and patient activation were the online health information seeking behavior’s main influencing factors in older patients with coronary heart disease(P<0.05).5.Structural equation model showed that coronary heart disease knowledge indirectly affected online health information seeking behavior through self-efficacy(β=0.056,P<0.05).Patient activation directly affected online health information seeking behaviour(β= 0.446,P<0.05)and indirectly affected online health information seeking behavior through self-efficacy(β=0.299,P<0.05).Social support not only directly affects network health information search behaviour(β=0.303,P<0.05)but also indirectly affects online health information seeking behaviour through self-efficacy(β=0.062,P<0.05).Self-efficacy directly affects online health information seeking behavior(β=0.178,P<0.05).Conclusions1.In this study,492 valid questionnaires were collected. The online health information seeking behaviour of older patients with coronary heart disease is lower and needs to be improved urgently. The main factors are household registration, education, monthly income,pre-retirement occupation, frequency of Internet use and patient activation.2.Online health information seeking behaviour, coronary heart disease knowledge, patient activation, social support and self-efficacy are significantly correlated.3.Patient activation and social support can directly affect online health information seeking behavior. It can also indirectly affect online health information seeking behavior through the mediation of self-efficacy,and coronary heart disease knowledge indirectly affects online health information seeking behavior through the mediation of self-efficacy.Self-efficacy can directly affect online health information seeking behavior. Therefore, the intervention of online health information seeking behaviour of older patients with coronary heart disease can be considered from the perspective of patient activation, social support and self-efficacy,and formulate scientific intervention measures. |
