Objective To observe the effect of repeated magnetic stimulation(r MS)of S3 nerve root combined with M1 region on urinary retention due to spinal cord injury. Methods 40 patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury were selected and randomly divided into the combined stimulus group and S3 stimulus group, with 20 cases in each group.A total of 37 patients completed the study. On the basis of conventional bladder function intervention, patients in both groups were given r MS for 20 days. The combined stimulus group was given S3 nerve root area repeated magnetic stimulation and M1 area repeated magnetic stimulation, and S3 stimulus group was given S3 nerve root area repeated magnetic stimulation and M1 area pseudostimulation. Both groups were treated 20 times, once a day,5 days a week for 4 consecutive weeks. The urination diary of each patient during treatment was recorded in detail. The urodynamic examination before and after treatment were recorded respectively. Finally, the data are analyzed statistically. Results Study participants included 40 patients. One patient in combined stimulus group was unable to tolerate r MS shedding in M1 region, and two patients in S3 stimulus group were shed due to failure to control urinary tract infection within 1 week.37 patients were finally included for statistical analysis.(1)Before treatment, the average daily catheterization times, average daily catheterization volume, average single urinary volume, urinary storage period(maximum bladder volume, bladder pressure),and urinary voiding period(detrusor pressure, residual urine volume)were compared between the two groups. The differences were not statistically significant(p>0.05).(2)After 4 weeks of treatment, the average daily catheterization times in combined stimulus group were lower than before treatment(p<0.05);The average single urination volume was higher than that before treatment(p<0.05);The average daily catheterization times in S3 stimulus group were lower than before treatment(p<0.05).Compared with S3 stimulation group, the average daily catheterization times of combined stimulation group were lower and the average single urination volume of combined stimulation group was higher(p<0.05).(3)After 4weeks of treatment,The maximum bladder capacity and detrusor pressure during urination were increased compared with those before treatment in the two groups(p<0.05).The bladder pressure and residual urine volume at the maximum volume in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(p<0.05).Compared with S3 stimulation group, maximum bladder volume and detrusor pressure during urination increased, while bladder pressure and residual urine volume decreased at maximum volume(p<0.05).Conclusion Combined with repeated magnetic stimulation can improve the urination function of patients with incomplete spinal cord injury, and the efficacy is significantly better than S3 nerve root region stimulation.
