Objective:To observe the clinical effects of stellate ganglion block in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Methods:In this study,78 patients with AR who met the criteria for nadir were selected from the ENT and Pain department outpatient clinics of our hospital and were divided into two groups using the random number table method.39 patients in the control group were treated with fluticasone propionate nasal spray and 39 patients in the blocking group were treated with SGB combined with fluticasone propionate nasal spray.Fluticasone propionate nasal spray was administered once daily at 200 ug/dose,two sprays in each nostril, and SGB was performed by ultrasound-guided lateral in-plane approach on days1-10 of treatment, once a day, alternating bilaterally, for a total of 10 sessions, with 10 days as a course of treatment in both groups.General information of patients, gender, age and duration of disease were collected. The visual analog score scores were recorded before treatment and at the follow-up visit at week 4 after treatment for both groups, and the VAS scores for each of the four symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching and nasal congestion were summed to obtain the total score Multi-VAS.Significant effect: decrease in Multi-VAS ≥ 80%after treatment compared with that before treatment;effective: decrease of 50-79%;ineffective: decrease of < 50%,based on the percentage of significant effect and effective to calculate Effective rate.Fasting venous blood was drawn from patients before and after treatment, and serum interleukin-4,tumor necrosis factor-α,eosinophils and immunoglobulin E levels were detected. The occurrence, type and number of complications were recorded, and the data obtained were statistically analyzed.Results:1.Comparison of general information between groups before treatment: there were no statistically significant comparable differences in gender, age, disease duration,pre-treatment symptoms and IL-4,TNF-α,Ig E and EOS levels between the two groups(P > 0.05).2.Comparison of clinical efficacy: after treatment, the clinical symptoms of both groups improved(P < 0.05);the clinical effective rate of the blocking group(89.74%)was higher than that of the control group(71.79%),and the comparison of efficacy between the groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Comparison of laboratory indices: IL-4,TNF-α,Ig E,and EOS levels were reduced in both groups after treatment(P < 0.05);the reduction in the blocking group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the comparison of serological indexes between groups was statistically significant(P < 0.01).4.Incidence of adverse reactions: No cases of derangement were seen in this study, and no adverse reactions occurred in 78 patients with high safety. Conclusion:A short continuous blockade of stellate ganglion can significantly improve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and reduce serum IL-4,TNF-α,Ig E and EOS levels, and is recommended for clinical application.
