Objective:To apply bedside ultrasound to observe the preoperative cross-sectional area of the gastric antrum in diabetic and non-diabetic patients and to assess the grading of gastric contents in patients.Methods:55 diabetic patients and 52 non-diabetic patients undergoing elective knee arthroplasty were selected.Patients were instructed to perform self-assessment of gastrointestinal function before anesthesia, followed by the application of bedside ultrasound to observe the gastric contents of patients and the application of adult satiety judgment grading criteria for assessment, recording the incidence of right lateral recumbent gastric antrum CSA,grade 2 gastric antrum and the occurrence of PONV in patients within 6 h after surgery.Results:1)Compared with non-diabetic patients(273.11 ± 53.92)mm 2,diabetic patients(398.07 ± 54.65)mm2 had greater preoperative right lateral recumbent gastric antrum CSA,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).2)The incidence of postoperative vomiting was highest in diabetic patients at preoperative level 2 gastric antrum(47.4%),and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference between grade0(6.3%)and grade 1(10.0%).3)Analysis of vomiting in diabetic patients within 6 h after surgery, and comparison of morning fasting glucose values, glycosylated hemoglobin values,BMI,insulin use or not,and diabetic complications(ophthalmopathy, peripheral neuropathy)between vomiting and non-vomiting patients, and the difference was not statistically significant.4)Among diabetic and non-diabetic patients, there was a statistically significant difference in preoperative self-rated normal gastrointestinal function in terms of subsonic sinus grading, and the incidence of preoperative grade 2 sinus was higher in diabetic patients under regular fasting time(P < 0.01).Conclusion:Preoperative right lateral recumbent gastric antrum CSA was significantly greater in diabetic patients than in non-diabetic patients.Their preoperative self-assessed gastrointestinal function was significantly more likely to be diagnosed as grade 2 gastric antrum under ultrasound, and the incidence of postoperative vomiting was increased.
