| OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Si-wei-san combined with Liu Junzi Tang in the treatment of pediatric anorexia nervosa in children with spleen deficiency and liver exuberance, and to provide new clinical ideas and considerations for the treatment of pediatric anorexia nervosa in Chinese medicine.METHODS: A total of 80 children attending the pediatric outpatient clinic of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine(time interval:01/2020-01/2021)were collected and randomly divided into Chinese medicine group and Western medicine group using the random number table method, and 77 cases were finally included. In the Chinese medicine group, the children were given oral administration of Sifu San and Six Junzi Tang free decoction granules, and in the Western medicine group, the children were given oral administration of Lactobacillus bifidum triplex tablets, both of which were administered for 4 courses of treatment,7 days per week, for a total of 28 days. The data related to the main symptom scores and TCM evidence scores of the children before and after treatment were recorded separately and analyzed statistically using SPSS26.0.Results:1.Before treatment, the gender, age, height, weight, duration of illness, total points of main symptoms, total points of secondary symptoms and points of each symptom were compared between the two groups of children respectively, and the results showed that P > 0.05,the differences were not statistically significant and were comparable.2.After four courses of treatment,in the treatment of pediatric anorexia nervosa, comparing the efficiency of the data of the two groups, the total efficiency of the Chinese medicine group was 87.17%,and the total efficiency of the Western medicine group was 78.95%,which was statistically significant by chisquare test, and the efficiency of the treatment of anorexia nervosa was superior to that of the Western medicine treatment. The differences in the total points of main symptoms, food intake points and appetite points before and after the treatment in the two groups were compared, and the differences were statistically significant by paired rank sum test: P < 0.01,indicating that the treatment in both groups could significantly improve the symptoms of anorexia nervosa in the children.Comparing the differences between the two groups of children in terms of total points of main symptoms, appetite points and appetite points after intra-group treatment, the differences were statistically significant by rank sum test: P < 0.05 for total points and appetite points, which proved that Chinese medicine treatment was more effective than western medicine treatment in improving total points of main symptoms and appetite points.3.In terms of improvement of Chinese medical symptoms, the total effective rate of the Chinese medicine group was 100%,and the total effective rate of the western medicine group was 84.21%.Comparing the effective rate of the data of the two groups,P < 0.01 by chi-square test was statistically significant, indicating that the Chinese medicine treatment was significantly better than the western medicine treatment in terms of the effective rate of improvement of the Chinese medicine symptoms. The intra-group comparison of sub-symptom scores before and after treatment,by rank sum test,P < 0.01,was statistically significant, indicating that both Chinese medicine treatment and western medicine treatment could significantly improve the TCM symptom scores. In the comparison between groups of single points of TCM symptoms after treatment,P < 0.01 was statistically significant for the points of facial color, spirit, abdominal distension, vomiting, and tongue and pulse symptoms, and P < 0.05 was statistically significant for the points of mouth bitterness, belching, and stool;indicating that the effect of Chinese medicine treatment was better than that of Western medicine treatment in the improvement of the symptoms related to the above TCM symptoms, and the effect of Chinese medicine treatment was significantly better than that of Western medicine treatment in the improvement of most symptoms. The effect of Chinese medicine treatment was significantly better than that of Western medicine treatment.4.No safety events occurred in both groups during the treatment period, indicating that the treatment with Sihui San and Liu Jun Zi Tang is safe.Conclusion:1.Sichisan combined with Liu Jun Zi Tang can significantly improve the symptoms related to anorexia nervosa in children with the evidence of spleen deficiency and liver exuberance in pediatric anorexia nervosa, and promote the improvement of appetite and increase of food intake in children, with positive clinical efficacy;2.Sihuan San combined with Liu Jun Zi Tang can improve the symptoms related to spleen deficiency and liver exuberance in children with spleen deficiency and liver exuberance in pediatric anorexia, such as face, spirit, abdominal distension, dysthymia, vomiting, mouth bitterness, stool and tongue and pulse, with the effect of improving the physical condition of the children and regulating the balance of the internal organs, fully reflecting the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of this disease;3.The safety of Sihuan San combined with Liu Jun Zi Tang in the treatment of pediatric anorexia nervosa in children with spleen deficiency and liver exuberance is good, which is worth further study and promotion. |
