| Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between homocysteine levels and ventricular arrhythmia in patients with chronic heart failure by collecting relevant information from patients who met the inclusion criteria.Patients were grouped based on whether they had hyperhomocysteinemia and whether they had ventricular arrhythmia.General clinical data, commonly used hematological indicators, homocysteine concentration, left ventricular ejection fraction, and other indicators were analyzed for statistical differences between the groups.Correlation analysis was performed between homocysteine and the indicators with statistical significance, and the diagnostic and predictive value of homocysteine for ventricular arrhythmia was explored. Methods: The study included 162 patients with chronic heart failure admitted to the cardiology ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University between September 2020 and October 2022.Patients were selected based on the inclusion criteria and divided into four groups: group A included 12 patients with chronic heart failure and ventricular arrhythmia without hyperhomocysteinemia;group B included 13 patients with chronic heart failure without ventricular arrhythmia or hyperhomocysteinemia;group C included 83 patients with chronic heart failure and hyperhomocysteinemia with ventricular arrhythmia;and group D included 54 patients with chronic heart failure and hyperhomocysteinemia without ventricular arrhythmia.Fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol,triglycerides,high-density lipoprotein, lowdensity lipoprotein, homocysteine concentration,24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram information, and heart function were collected for each patient.SPSS 20.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1.There were no statistically significant differences in the general clinical data or hematological indicators between the four groups(P<0.05).2.There were statistically significant differences in homocysteine levels between groups A and C,A and D,B and C,and B and D(P<0.05).3.LVDd had statistically significant differences among the groups, and it showed a strong correlation with Hcy in correlation analysis. The area under the ROC curve for homocysteine in predicting ventricular arrhythmia in patients with chronic heart failure was 0.819,indicating that homocysteine has a certain predictive value for ventricular arrhythmia in patients with chronic heart failure. Conclusion: Homocysteine is correlated with ventricular arrhythmia in patients with chronic heart failure and has a certain predictive value, suggesting that hyperhomocysteinemia is a risk factor for ventricular arrhythmia in patients with chronic heart failure. |
