ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to observe the clinical efficacy of oral administration of modified Yupingfeng powder combined with external acupoint application on allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency and cold type, and to compare the difference in efficacy between oral administration of modified Yupingfeng powder alone, and to analyze the effect of the former on the immunity, quality of life and disease recurrence of patients with allergic rhinitis, providing a reference for the selection of clinical treatment methods in the future.MethodsFirstly,in strict accordance with the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,60 patients with allergic rhinitis of lung qi deficiency type diagnosed in the outpatient department of internal medicine of Shanxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to December 2022 were selected. The patients were divided into treatment group and control group by random number table,30 cases in each group. The two groups of patients were instructed to pay attention to the combination of work and rest, regulating emotions, light diet, smoking cessation and alcohol restriction, careful living, avoiding wind and cold, and moderate exercise to enhance physical fitness during treatment. The control group was treated with oral Yupingfeng Powder, and the treatment group was treated with oral Yupingfeng Powder combined with external acupoint application for 4 weeks. The patients were followed up for 3 months after treatment. The patient’s case data before and after the experiment, the VAS score of the overall nasal symptoms, the VAS score of the nasal and eye symptoms, the TCM syndrome score, the comparison of the improvement of the quality of life and daily activities of the patients before and after treatment, the recurrence or not and the number of days of recurrence after 3 months of treatment were filled in detail. The database was established, statistical analysis was carried out,the statistical results were objectively evaluated, and the conclusions were drawn.Results1.Efficacy analysis:After 4 weeks of treatment, there were 29 patients in the treatment group,of which 6 cases were markedly effective,20 cases were effective,3 cases were ineffective,1 case was lost, and the total effective rate was 89.7%.A total of 30 patients in the control group,of which 2 cases were markedly effective,21 cases were effective,7 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 76.7%.The experimental results showed that the two groups of treatment methods were effective in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, and the total effective rate of the former was higher than that of the latter. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),suggesting that the treatment group had a better treatment effect on the disease.2.Comparison of general data:Before treatment, the general data of the two groups of patients, such as gender, age, course of disease, were compared, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups can be compared.3.Comparison of relevant data within the group:Comparing the relevant data within the two groups of patients before and after treatment,it can be seen that after treatment, the VAS score of nasal overall symptoms, the VAS score of nasal and eye symptoms, the special scale of nasal conjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(authorized Chinese version of RQLQ)score, the total score of TCM syndromes and the scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05),suggesting that both treatment methods can reduce nasal and eye symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients.4.Comparison of relevant data between groups:Comparing the scores of related symptoms between the two groups after treatment,it can be seen that the overall nasal symptom scores, runny nose, nasal congestion and rhinoconjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(authorized Chinese version of RQLQ)scores, and the scores of spontaneous sweating and aversion to wind and cold in TCM syndromes of the two groups after treatment were statistically significant(P>0.05).5.Comparison of recurrence:3 months after the end of treatment, the follow-up statistics found that there were 7 recurrent cases in the control group during the period, with a recurrence rate of 30.4%,including 4 recurrent cases in the treatment group, with a recurrence rate of 15.4%.Finally,it was concluded that the recurrence rate of the treatment group was lower and its long-term efficacy was better than that of the control group.Conclusion1.Yupingfeng powder combined with acupoint application in the treatment of lung qi deficiency cold type allergic rhinitis is better than the control group;2.Modified Yupingfeng powder combined with acupoint application is more effective than simple oral administration of modified Yupingfeng powder, the former is more effective in improving the overall symptoms of the nose, runny nose, nasal congestion, spontaneous sweating, aversion to wind and cold and quality of life;...
