Professional identity is an individual’s positive evaluation of the specific occupation to be engaged in.It is the internal unity of personal value and professional social value.Social status perception is an individual’s feeling and evaluation of his social status,which can reflect his satisfaction and adaptability to the current situation and the resulting expectation of his desired social status.The professional identity of medical students is related to the development of the pharmaceutical industry.Improving the professional identity of medical students is the only way to alleviate the shortage of medical staff,reconcile the contradiction between doctors and patients and cultivate good medical ethics.The study found that good social status perception can promote professional identity,while bad social status perception will reduce professional identity.The influence of social status perception on professional identity is not unique,and there are other variables that affect professional identity.Perceived social support is an individual’s emotional experience and satisfaction with being respected,supported and understood in society.It is the social support that individuals subjectively experience.With low perceived social support,the career decision-making self-efficacy of medical students will be reduced,which will further affect their professional identity in the pharmaceutical industry;With a high level of perceived social support,individuals will have more confidence in their career decisions,so as to improve their positive evaluation of their career and enhance their career identity.In order to explore the impact of social status perception on medical students’ professional identity,based on the theory of social identity,this study attempts to explore the impact mechanism of social status perception on medical students’ professional identity,and explore the intermediary role of just world belief and career decision-making self-efficacy between social status perception and medical students’ professional identity,And understand the regulatory role of social support between social status perception and professional identity.Through literature research,this paper attempts to establish a regulated intermediary model.This study used the questionnaire method to investigate the medical students in four medical colleges in Guangdong Province by using the social status perception scale,professional identity scale,just world belief scale,career decision-making self-efficacy scale and perceived social support scale.In the study,644 questionnaires were collected through offline and offline synchronous questionnaire collection.The results show that:(1)There are significant demographic differences in medical students’ perception of social status in major and grade;There are differences in demographic variables of professional identity in medical students’ expectation of employment.(2)There is a significant correlation between the main variables in this study.Social status perception has a significant positive impact on medical students’ professional identity;Just world belief and career decision-making self-efficacy have a significant positive impact on medical students’ professional identity,and the two variables play an intermediary role between social status perception and medical students’ professional identity.(3)Perceived social support plays a moderating role between social status perception and professional identity;For high comprehension social supporters,career decision-making self-efficacy plays a strong intermediary role between social status perception and career identity.This study further explores the relevant mechanism between social status perception and professional identity,and aims to put forward relevant suggestions for improving medical students’ Professional Identity: improving medical students’ professional identity and cultivating positive professional attitude;Strengthen positive professional publicity and improve the perception of medical students’ social status;Pay attention to the mental health of medical students and improve their ability to understand social support.
