| This study mainly explores the specific application of multi-modal teaching mode in online elementary spoken Chinese,and based on the multi-modal teaching mode framework,an oral Chinese course is designed and applied to online teaching practice.The research objects are American middle school students who attended a language training school.By the end of the program,a bilingual questionnaire in both English and Chinese was sent to students with some online interviews to students in English.The classroom observation records from teachers and the results of final tests were collected.According to these,this thesis analyzes the teaching effect and existing problems of the multi-modal teaching in online elementary spoken Chinese courses,and puts forward corresponding suggestions for teachers who will use this mode in online classes in the future.There are five chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction,including the background and significance of topic,the domestic and international research trends,and methods and innovations of multi-modal teaching mode and online elementary spoken Chinese teaching.Chapter 2 elaborates the theory of multi-modal teaching mode,focusing on concepts and theoretical basis and the related theories of multi-modal in teaching application which are the principle of mode selection,multi-modal teaching methods,and the types and combinations of modalities.Chapter 3 is the application of multi-modal teaching mode,which mainly includes the feasibility analysis,the preparation of teaching and teaching design examples based on the theory.Chapter 4 provides feedback on the application result via the evaluation of student questionnaires and interviews,classroom observation by peers and the analysis of scores of final tests to assess the teaching practice.In the Chapter5,the classroom effects,teaching reflections and corresponding suggestions of online elementary spoken Chinese teaching guided by multi-modal teaching mode are concentrated.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole research process,and draws a conclusion through the students’ questionnaires and scores,that is,the multi-modal teaching mode is highly compatible with online elementary Chinese spoken courses,and the effect is obviously positive. |
