A Study On The Image Narrative Of Humanistic Documentary

Gannan Thangka is a humanistic documentary that objectively records the Tibetan cultural symbol——Thangka through multiple lenses and narrative perspectives.This documentary with the theme of Thangka is going to explore humanistic values,to show the unique charm of national culture in the new era,and to express the pursuit and yearning for national art and culture.This paper is committed to the study of Gannan Thangka from the perspective of image narration.On the basis of defining the relevant concepts,it focuses on the three aspects of narrative theme,image narrative structure,and image narrative techniques,and finally explores the cultural expression function in image narrative.It was found that the narrative theme of the humanistic documentary Gannan Thangka covers ethnic culture,historical culture and civilian culture.And the image narrative structure is clear and complete,including three components: narrative time,narrative space and narrative perspective in this paper.It comprehensively uses two major image narrative techniques of lens language enriching image expression and sound language enriching audiovisual experience,which finally effectively shows the visual tension of minority cultural symbols and promotes the record and inheritance of Tibetan culture.In addition,Gannan Thangka combines the image language with the appeal of national culture,uses images to construct unique Tibetan customs and to portray the true self of the Tibetan people.It also explores the material and spiritual cultural connotations of the Tibetan people,and realizes the effective expression of Tibetan culture.This method not only helps the audience to feel the charm of national culture from civilian perspective,but also reflects the value pursuit of cultural expression in humanistic documentary.
