Hong Ying has a distinct personality style among overseas Chinese female writers.Since the 1990 s,her creations have become a unique "existence" that has attracted more attention and has been constantly causing controversy in overseas Chinese literature.Her creative content covers a wide range,but a prominent feature is that she is good at starting from the unique female experience,speaking for women at the bottom,writing about the survival dilemma faced by women,and exploring the possibility of women getting rid of the tragedy of fate.The special life experience,the painful experiences of women’s life growth and the love experience during her stay in the UK made her attach great importance to the presentation and examination of life situations when writing.In her creations,the care for women’s fate and the writing of women’s emotions show the charm of unique personal characteristics.This paper focuses on analyzing the female consciousness in Hong Ying’s novels from the perspective of female writing,discusses her female consciousness in the overall context of her creation.At the same time,it analyzes her characteristics in different stages of creation,pays attention to her personal growth background,emotional development process and the change of creation theme,and explains the female life that runs through her novels,the relationship between her memory and emotion.Looking at Hong Ying’s creation as a whole,we found that the female consciousness presented in Hong Ying’s works has generally gone through a mental process from self-awakening,self-seeking to self-identification.In the autobiographical novels "Daughter of the River" and "Good Children of the Flowers",she writes about the suffering and fate of women at the bottom,boldly exposes the scars of growth,and reveals the female consciousness from spontaneity to self-consciousness.In-depth thinking on love and marriage enables her to re-examine the relationship between the sexes,and consciously adjust and improve her female writing thinking.She chooses to construct a new female spiritual world,expand her narrative theme and framework,and broaden the awareness of women.The background space for development has expanded from the love life of men and women to the realm of the nation and nation,and focused more on the height of human values to show women’s consciousness.Her representative works include "Out of India","The King of Shanghai",and "Peacock Cries".After becoming a mother,the power of natural motherhood makes Hong Ying’s female consciousness more and more deepened and clear.She tries to explore the way to live in harmony with men in a more peaceful manner,hoping that women can pursue independent survival value,and real happiness in love and marriage.From the new works "Rome" and "Moonlight Warrior" in recent years,we can feel the development and improvement of Hong Ying’s female consciousness.The examination and thinking of female identity and memory have made her redefine herself,and her female consciousness has also been given more Motherhood connotation.Hong Ying awakens her own desire for life and struggle against destiny,and constantly enriches the female spiritual core in the process of understanding,recognizing and surpassing itself,so that the heart is full of strong and tenacious power.Her heroines also show the freedom and strength of female vitality in the process of self-awakening and growth.Exploring the writing of female consciousness in Hong Ying’s creative process is conducive to thinking about the difficulties faced by women in contemporary society,and also injects new cultural connotations and spiritual characteristics into female writing in overseas Chinese literature.
