| With the rapid development of Internet technology, the mode of education and teaching has also undergone profound changes.Online education has broken through the limitations of time and space, and introduced diversified interaction modes to education. However, with the deepening and advancement of online education, students’ learning problems keep coming up.Since they watch their teachers across the screen for a long time, they are prone to negative emotions, for example, learning burnout. In the process of online foreign language teaching, teachers play a vital role in classroom teaching. It is of great significance for alleviating learning burnout to explore the status quo of senior high school students’ perceived teacher support and learning burnout,as well as the influence mechanism of perceived teacher support on learning burnout.Based on this, this paper raises the following two research questions:(1)What is the status quo of high school students’ perception of teacher support and learning burnout in online foreign language learning?(2)What is the relationship between the four dimensions of teacher support behavior perceived by high school students and the three dimensions of learning burnout in online foreign language learning?By taking a total of232 high school students from Senior One to Senior Three in a municipal middle school in Chongqing as research objects and using two questionnaires,“A Survey on High School Students’ Perceived Teacher Support Behaviors in Online Foreign Language Teaching” and “Questionnaire on Online Foreign Language Learning Burnout of Senior High School Students”,this paper analyzed the results of the collected data using SPSS.26 and AMOS.24 statistical analysis software.Combined with a semi-structured interview, the influence mechanism of senior high school students’ perceived teacher support on learning burnout in online foreign language teaching was discussed, the relationship between teacher support behavior and learning burnout was identified and a reference was provided for a vast majority of educators,in the hope of relieving students’ burnout emotion in online foreign language learning through effective teacher supportThe research findings showed that:(1)the teachers’ intellectual support perceived by senior high school students was the strongest, while the instrumental support was the weakest.Boys perceived teachers’ instrumental support more strongly than girls. In addition, first graders felt the most emotional and social support, while third graders felt the most intellectual and instrumental support, and second graders were average.(2)Senior high school students generally suffered from learning burnout, among which low self-efficacy was the most evident. There was no significant difference between males and females in terms of gender and grade, but second graders scored the highest in emotional exhaustion and academic apathy, and third graders scored the highest in low self-efficacy.(3)By analyzing with AMOS.24,it was concluded that senior high school students’ perceived teacher support had a significant negative effect on learning burnout, and the effect of teachers’ intellectual support on the relief of low spirit was the most evident, the effect of teachers’ social support on the relief of low self-efficiency was the most significant, while the effect of teachers’ instrumental support was the least significant. In this study,it was suggested to reinforce the training and development of teachers’ expertise, expand teachers’ knowledge reserve, and provide students at different levels with abundant teaching knowledge;add interactions in a variety of forms, increase the involvement in classroom activities, intensify teacher-student interaction and student-student interaction;encourage students by words and eyes in each teaching link in a timely manner, help them relieve depression;increase the operating proficiency of online learning software and platform, and make efficient use of platform software to accomplish teaching tasks. |
