Verdi is a representative figure of Italian opera writers in the 19 th century.The reason why his works are popular is largely because his works are realistic and reflect the class contradictions and social phenomena at that time."Don Carlo" in his many opera works,expressed a strong color of heroism,with the noble pursuit of democracy and freedom.The aria "My End is Nigh" is one of the opera’s finest baritone passages.This paper will analyze aria from three aspects:(1)the creation background of the opera "Don Carlo" and Rodrigo’s character characteristics;(2)The creation characteristics of the aria "My End is Near";(3)The singing style of "My End is Near".
