Dynamic assessment is a new type of assessment that can be used not only to measure students’ learning potential, but also as a way to improve teaching effectiveness. Its interactive nature has made it a hot research topic in the language education field in recent years. In the past two decades, some domestic scholars have devoted themselves to exploring a more comprehensive and effective assessment model by introducing the model of dynamic assessment, and the theory has also been applied to the field of international Chinese language education. As a result of the epidemic, online Chinese language classes, mainly live classes, have been growing, putting higher demands on classroom quality and teachers.Students’ online learning status(e.g.,learning concentration, learning interest,self-efficacy)and classroom teacher-student interaction affect the quality of online classes;therefore, this study focuses on the above three indicators to test the effect brought by dynamic assessment, and the key questions to be addressed are as follows:1.Does dynamic assessment help students to improve their grammatical correctness?2.Does the application of dynamic assessment to online Chinese classes increase the number of teacher-student interactions and improve the quality of interactions?3.Does dynamic assessment affect students’ learning states, such as concentration, selfefficacy, and interest in learning? To answer these three research questions, the author conducted an 8-week Chinese teaching experiment with 10 Japanese students from the Department of Chinese as a Foreign Language at a university in Beijing, and examined the effect of applying dynamic assessment in online teaching by comparing the experimental class(guided by using the model of dynamic assessment)and the control class(traditional teaching evaluation method). The study found that:1.dynamic assessment can significantly improve students’ grammatical correctness and help them achieve progress in grammar level.2.Dynamic assessment can increase the number of teacher-student interactions in the classroom and improve the quality of interactions, thus compensating for the lack of interactions brought by online classes.3.Dynamic assessment helps improve students’ classroom concentration, but does not have a significant impact on students’ self-efficacy and interest in learning.Dynamic assessment enables continuous teacher-student interaction, stimulates students to think in the right direction, reduces the number of mind wanderings to a certain extent, and improves students’ concentration. The increase in self-efficacy is more related to the length of study, while interest in learning is affected by various factors, and the higher the interest in learning, the more difficult it is to achieve growth,so its change needs to be observed over a longer period of time. The results of this teaching suggest the feasibility of applying the dynamic assessment model to live online lessons to improve students’ grammatical correctness and learning status, and to improve the quality of online lessons.
