A Vocabulary Survey And Comparative Study Of Lexical Features Of The Leshan Dialect In Sichuan

According to Language Atlas of China,the Leshan dialect of Sichuan belongs to the Minjiang sub-part of Southwestern Mandarin.Different from the representation of Chengdu dialect in Chengdu-Chongqing dialect area,the Leshan dialect maintains the entering tone.So far,no thesis or monograph on the dialect vocabulary of the Leshan dialect has been published.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct research on the vocabulary of the Leshan dialect.This thesis mainly applies theories and study methods of phonetics,Chinese dialectology and Chinese lexicography,with a focus on vocabulary in the synchronic language system of the Leshan dialect.On the basis of the field survey,the dialect vocabulary of the Leshan dialect was systematically organized and recorded,and the phonetic variation of Leshan dialect vocabulary,such as sound change,rhyme change and tone change,was analyzed and studied,and its characteristics were summarized.At the same time,the Chengdu dialect in Chengdu-Chongqing dialect area and the Luzhou dialect in Nanlu dialect were used for a horizontal comparison of lexical features.The structure of this thesis is as follows: Chapter 1 is the introduction,which introduces the basic information about the geographical location and history of Leshan,outlines the current situation of lexical research on the Leshan dialect,gives an overview of the research content,method,and significance of this thesis,and briefly describes the situation of the survey subjects,the word list of dialect survey,the equipment and software,and the sources of materials used for comparison.The second chapter is about the phonological features of the vocabulary of the Leshan dialect and depicts the vocal-phonetic system of the Leshan dialect.The third chapter summarizes the phonological changes in the vocabulary of the Leshan dialect,such as sound change,rhyme change and tone change.Chapter 4 focuses on the characteristics of the vocabulary of the Leshan dialect.Under the analysis of the dialect status and basic situation of Leshan,Luzhou and Chengdu,the differences of the three dialects’ vocabulary are compared horizontally,divided into compound words and derivative words for discussion,thus the characteristics of Leshan dialect vocabulary are analyzed and summarized.In the last chapter,the main content and conclusions of the whole thesis are summarized.A wordlist of the Leshan dialect and a comparative wordlist of the vocabulary of Leshan,Chengdu and Luzhou(classified according to word meanings and annotated with the International Phonetic Alphabet)are attached.
