Ma Sicong is the first generation of Chinese violin music performer and composer who has made great contribution to the history of Chinese modern music.He not only opened a new era of violin in China,but also established his position in the Chinese music circle with a large number of excellent music works.Ma Sicong’s Violin Concerto in F Major completed in Guilin in 1944 and Violin Sonata in A Major(also known as Sonata No.3 for Violin and Piano)completed in the United States,where he lived in 1984,are two representative works among his few absolute music,integrating the Chinese national style into the absolute music genre.Absolute music form is free from the external factors such as language and concept,and presented in the form of "non-semantic",which can better highlight the pure beauty of music.This is a rare situation in the creation of Chinese violin instrumental music,which reflects the structure,unique creation style and significance of Ma Sicong’s unique absolute violin music to the development of Chinese absolute music,which is of high research value.This paper mainly focuses on music performance and works analysis.The whole paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is a brief introduction to the connotation,extension and development of absolute music.The second chapter analyzes and summarizes the form structure,harmonic layout and playing techniques of the two works.In the third chapter,when analyzing the "Chinese style" of Ma Sicong’s absolute music,the author thinks and summarizes the significance of the "Chinese style" absolute music in Chinese modern society.The author hopes to provide reference and help for future scholars and players in the aspects of creation characteristics and performance skills,and to arouse the academic community’s attention and discussion on the research,creation and performance of absolute violin music.
