In recent years, the modern zheng piece "Cang Ge Yin" has become one of the well-known professional guzheng pieces in the world.By playing this piece, one not only can strengthen the awareness of techniques, but also improves one’s ability to feel the music aesthetically, making it a difficult and appreciative piece for guzheng performance. This work has been expanded several times-from the "prototype" version of "Qing Shao" composed in March 2014,to the "streamlined" version of "Cang Ge Yin" expanded in Apr 2014,to the "complete" version of "Cang Ge Yin" expanded in July 2017.The author will compare and contrast the three different versions of Canggeyin, looking at the progression of connotations, the changes in the structure of the piece between versions, the changes in melodic development, and the use of simplicity and complexity in performance techniques. In the first chapter,we will discuss the background of the three different versions of "Cang Ge Yin",the history of the three different versions of "Cang Ge Yin",the concept of composition, and the integration and progression of the three versions. The second chapter is a musical analysis and comparison between the three versions, including the comparison of the structure of the composition between the different versions and the comparison of the melodic development between the different versions, analyzing, studying and elaborating the musical preservation, changes and development between the three versions. The third chapter is about the simplicity and complexity of the performance techniques between the three versions, which is divided into four parts, including the comparative study of the traditional performance techniques of the left hand, the development and changes of the finger-wagging techniques of the right hand, the application and treatment of the sweeping techniques, and the stage presentation of the "dotted line" of the finger sequences between the three versions.
