| Stone carvings are important historical documents in ancient times.The inscriptions on stone carvings in the Yuan Dynasty record the identities and names of many calligraphers and engravers.I have compiled and counted a total of 2181 calligraphers and engravers from 2858 square stone carvings in the Yuan Dynasty.This article focuses on the study of official calligraphy,involving 1189 steles and a total of 904 people,accounting for nearly two-thirds of the total number of calligraphers,indicating the enormous number of them.Through further research and analysis,it was further divided into 4 categories and 35 subcategories,and the identity of each type of official scribe was specifically examined.This article mainly focuses on the compilation of "Complete Compilation of Liao Jin Yuan Stone Carving Documents" and "Compilation of Historical Stone Carving Rubbings Collected by Beijing Library".Firstly,based on the content of the calligraphers in the Yuan Dynasty stone carvings,classification and examples were conducted to understand the comprehensive information of the calligraphers in the Yuan Dynasty stone carvings by organizing data.Secondly,organize,count,and explain the information on the inscriptions of officials,clerks,and individuals in the collection of Yuan Dynasty stone carvings in the book,and correct any errors that may exist in the book.Finally,provide examples to illustrate the formal characteristics of the inscriptions of officials and officials in the Yuan Dynasty stone carvings.This article conducts a detailed investigation on the identities of four types of official scribes: Guan Ge,Jin Shi Gong Shi,Confucian officials,and other officials,and selects 62 typical scribes for verification.The Yuan Dynasty stone carved official scribes had a high social status and cultural level,representing the bureaucratic class of the Yuan Dynasty.Due to their identity representing the image of the government,the Yuan Dynasty officials often used their memorial tablets to convey court orders and commemorate their achievements.Many official actions were also commemorated by setting up tablets and making their achievements public.Therefore,the Yuan Dynasty officials and scribes had the characteristics of a large number,wide distribution,refined culture,high status,and great influence,which played a significant role in promoting the popularity of the Yuan Dynasty scribe calligraphy and stele culture.Among 904 official calligraphers,68 official calligraphers or calligrapher among them are mainly investigated in this paper,and their calligraphy is introduced.Due to the fact that the stone carvings of the Yuan Dynasty carried a large number of textual relics written by officials,this article further analyzes the impact of different groups of officials’ stone carvings on the social writing state at that time,reflecting the important role and status of stone carvings in calligraphy art. |
