Study On Marx’s Democratic Thought And Its Contemporary Value

At present,democracy is an excellent thing has been recognized by the people all over the world and has become the universal value pursuit of modern political civilization.However,there is still no consensus on how to define democracy.With the rise of democratization in the late twentieth century,countries around the world have been debating the merits and demerits of democratic models.The effect of state governance is an important indicator of democratic efficiency.Under the guidance of the Western liberal democracy,democracy in Western capitalist countries has gradually become populist,multi-party mutual constraints have led to low efficiency of social governance," money democracy "has led to intensified social division,the Western democratic system has gradually failed,the rule of capitalist countries is in danger.In contrast to the stalemate of Western-style democracy,Chinese democratic politics has shown a vigorous development trend.For this phenomenon,Western ideologists advocate that democracy is the "patent" of capitalist countries and advocate the "China threat theory," which shows that the issue of democracy is no longer a simple issue of theory and has become the focus of international struggle.The socialist democratic political system with Chinese characteristics is formed and developed on the basis of Marx’s democratic thought.In order to break the" China threat theory,"expose the conspiracy of western countries to demonize and isolate China,further develop whole-process people’s democracy,and enhance people’s confidence in the socialist democratic model,this paper intends to explore the essence of socialist democracy from Marx ’s democratic thought,and draw a conclusion that socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics pursues win-win cooperation,which is different from the zero-sum game of western capitalist democracy.Although Marx did not specifically discuss his democratic thought,the idea of democracy permeates his entire theory and the social revolutionary practice.Marx’s democratic thought is based on the inheritance of predecessors’ democratic thought.This thought is not achieved overnight,but is continuously developed and improved on the basis of participating in the socialist movement and summarizing practical experience.It has roughly experienced four stages of gestation,formation,maturity and improvement.The subject of democracy is extensive.The essence of democracy is that the people are the masters of the country.In order to realize democracy,we must rely on the specific path of proletarian dictatorship.Under the background of the new era,Marx’s democratic thought also gives us a lot of practical enlightenment:strengthening the institutions through which the people run the country;adhere to democratic centralism,handle the relationship between democracy and concentration;promote the combination of electoral democracy and consultative democracy to protect people’s democracy;At the same time,we should improve the democratic at the community level,take the "last mile" well.It plays a key role in enhancing the political participation of our people,creating a free and democratic social atmosphere,and promoting the construction of democratic politics in China.
