Research On The Creative Fusion Of Documentary And Reality Show

Regarding documentaries and reality shows,scholars at home and abroad have always regarded them as two different types of TV works.At the beginning of the birth of reality show,because it integrated documentary elements of documentary,some scholars put it in the category of documentary.However,as reality shows become more dramatic,entertaining,and competitive,reality shows and documentaries have become more prominent.The essential difference gradually emerged.Nowadays,Chinese documentaries have entered an era of diversified development,but the boundaries of the connotation of documentaries have become increasingly blurred.Therefore,some documentary film creators try to merge the creative modes of the two TV programs based on the pursuit of authenticity in both documentaries and reality shows.This kind of documentary audio-visual works with reality show as the appearance and documentary authenticity as the core is gradually becoming a new form of Chinese TV shows.This paper takes the program "Life Of Adventure" as the research object,and the related theories of reality show and documentary creation as the research basis,and uses the research method of text analysis and comparative research to explore how the program realizes the integration of two different types of TV forms at the creative level.As a documentary reality show,"Life Of Adventure" reflects the creative integration of documentaries and reality shows by retaining the creative features of reality shows and incorporating the creative features of documentaries.At the same time,the creators focus on the documentary creation strategy in terms of theme conception,narrative strategy and audio-visual language to achieve the integration of the two creative characteristics,and the presentation method has achieved a relative balance between documentary and aesthetic entertainment.The reasons for such fusion creation include the intersection of program type characteristics,market factors,and media environment.Finally,with the development of media integration,creators should not take a narrow view of the definition of TV program types,and the integration of creative types,the construction of innovative expression of traditional documentary audio-visual works,the homogeneity and column limitations of current documentary programs.The solution of problems such as sexuality and resource depletion has brought a positive impact and helped to explore a path suitable for sustainable development in the future.
