A Multi-angle Analysis Of The Structure Of "hai Zhen Shi" In Modern Chinese

The paper takes the typical structure of“hai zhen shi(还真是)”as the research object.The author describes and analyzes its syntactic expression,semantic features,subjectivity strength,and pragmatic function.The thesis consists of five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which expounds on the reason for the topic selection,research significance,theoretical basis and research methods of this paper,and explains the source of the corpus.Then the author sorts out the research status of the adverb “hai(还)” “zhen(真)”,and the judgment verb or the focus mark “shi(是)” in the structure of “hai zhen shi”.At the end of the chapter,we concentrate on the expectation theory and point out the parts less concerned in the previous research.The second chapter mainly focuses on the syntactic expression of “hai zhen shi”.First,according to the relevant use cases in the corpus,it is determined that “hai zhen shi” has yet to become a word.Then,the syntactic characteristics of the subsequent component “X” of “hai zhen shi” are analyzed according to the grammatical properties of “shi” in “hai zhen shi”,that is,when “shi” is the judgment verb,“X” is mostly the nominals component,and when “shi” is the focus marker,“X” is mostly the predicate component.Finally,the high-frequency co-occurrence component of“hai zhen shi” is investigated and divided into two aspects according to whether it can judge the subjectivity of “hai zhen shi”,which provides a formal basis for discussing the causes of co-occurrence and problems related to subjectivity.The third chapter mainly discusses the semantics of the two adverbs of “hai” and“zhen” in the structure of “hai zhen shi”,that is,“hai” can represent still,correlation,and mood,while “zhen” can represent confirmation,emphasis and degree.Semantically,the two adverbs have a correspondence relationship.The structure of“hai zhen shi” has five kinds of semantic features,among which,the subjectivity of“hai” in the periphery of the language sequence and the subjectivity of “zhen” in the inner layer are also adaptive.“hai” and “zhen” can both express subjective comments and objective reality,and “hai” can be subjective while “zhen” can be objective,expressing the tone that reinforces confirmation and emphasis.In chapter four,from the perspective of pragmatic function,the author tries to solve the expectation problems related to “hai zhen shi”,explore the mechanism that restricts the speaker’s generation and the listener’s interpretation,revealing its unique performance of expressing both expectation and antiexpectation,and analyzing the motivation behind the characteristic structure of contradiction.Then the author discusses the pragmatic function of “hai zhen shi”,namely the evaluation function of praise and disparagement.Finally,the identification function and response function of“hai zhen shi” in the dialogue style are investigated.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the content of the whole text,and puts forward the shortcomings of the research and the direction of further efforts in the future.
