| Since the 1990 s,DV technology has developed rapidly and many independent directors have emerged.In this context,the most noticed Japanese director is Naomi Kawase,who is internationally known.Naomi Kawase is dedicated to expressing her understanding and experience of life and survival,and is good at creating films with her own personalized narrative methods.Her works have a clear mark of "author’s film",always focusing on family affection,life and death,nature and other themes,insisting on personal life experience as the source of film creation.As a female director,she integrates her gentle and fresh femininity into her films,writes about the plight of women in her films,and expresses them with her sensitive and delicate female perspective and experience.This thesis analyzes and expounds the theme connotation,narrative characteristics and audiovisual characteristics in turn,to find out the law of director’s creation,and then excavate the deep connotation and philosophy conveyed by his works.This thesis uses case analysis,comparative analysis and literature research,and draws on the theoretical achievements of art,narratology and feminism to discuss.This thesis is divided into five parts,including the introduction,three chapters and the conclusion.The specific content is as follows:The introduction discusses the background and significance of the topic,and combs the research status of this topic at home and abroad.The first chapter mainly discusses the theme connotation of Naomi Kawase’s films.It mainly includes the pursuit and adherence of family affection,life and death perception,and reverence for nature and harmony between heaven and man.Naomi Kawase focuses on human nature,nature and life,and expresses the profound and profound theme connotation of the times.The second chapter mainly discusses the narrative characteristics of Naomi Kawase’s films,from the female perspective and female consciousness,the narrative mode of prose culture.Naomi Kawase focuses her lens on women in different social situations,analyzes the essential causes of women’s survival predicament,reshaps the values of contemporary women,and through daily narrative plots,the director pursues poetic aesthetic effects in a narrative way that disperses the form but keeps the spirit.The third chapter mainly expounds the audiovisual features of Naomi Kawase’s films.Naomi Kawase has distinct characteristics in the use of audio-visual language.She is good at giving play to the expressive force of long shot,empty shot,light and sound.Through the lens language with Oriental charm,the expressive light art and the multi-functional sound expression,she improves the texture and connotation of the film and gives the audience a unique aesthetic feeling.The conclusion summarizes the research content of this thesis,fully affirms the value and significance of Naomi Kawase’s films,and makes clear its defects and deficiencies,and hope that the director can face the problem,out of the bottleneck. |
