| The documentary medium is not only about a person or an event,but also about the hidden emotions behind it.As a carrier of time and a receptacle for humanistic emotions,documentaries use images to carry individual emotions,and through transposition and narrative techniques,they are able to achieve a deep dialogue between the work and the audience,attracting them to stop and realise the mission of the work to the greatest extent.This thesis attempts to examine the narrative creation of humanities documentaries from the perspective of empathy,in order to explore and expand the boundaries of humanities documentaries’ narrative.This article takes humanities documentaries as the object of study,and takes the empathic narrative characteristics of these documentaries as its research content.The article takes empathy theory,image narrative theory and use and satisfaction theory as theoretical guides,and uses research methods such as documentary research and case study analysis,and analyses them on the basis of observing a large number of excellent documentaries in conjunction with its own work,Singing Through the Earth.The first chapter traces the theoretical origins of humanistic documentaries and empathic narratives,defines and explains the core concepts,considers the connections between documentaries,empathy and empathic narratives,and introduces the relevant theories that guide this study.The second chapter focuses on the value and significance of empathetic narratives in humanities documentaries: from a cultural perspective,this genre of documentary film can preserve vivid cultural memories,reconstruct the impressions of the times and trigger cultural empathy;from a social perspective,the simple form of recording unblocks asymmetrical information,guides social opinion and stimulates empathetic concern;from a communication perspective,the empathetic narrative can be transposed to highlight the emotional aspirations of the audience,making it easier to realise The third chapter examines the content of the narratives.The third chapter examines the themes and subjects involved in the narrative content: these documentaries are based on the exploration of universal values and humanistic dialogue,which leads to a common understanding,while the selection of atypical characters and microcosmic group portraits achieve empathy from the perspective of individuals and groups.Chapter 4 explores the precision of empathy from an integrated narrative perspective,the mechanism of matching emotions in multiple narrative structures and the construction of an empathetic space.Chapter 5 focuses on narrative language and analyses empathy in images and sound.The sixth chapter looks at future strategies for empathetic narratives in humanities documentaries,suggesting suggestions for their creation in terms of an emotional communication mechanism that combines emotion and reason,and ideological value leadership.From the perspective of empathetic narrative,this thesis analyses the text in the context of creative practice,discusses how humanities documentaries can better realise empathy with audiences,and makes suggestions for future development,attempting to suggest that empathy is not just a simple display of emotion,but a kind of independent transpersonal thinking,providing reference for the future creation of documentaries of the same genre. |
