| Machines,on the one hand,as a manifestation of great progress in productivity, have created enormous material wealth and promoted social progress. On the other hand, they have excluded and replaced workers in the labor process, making the living environment for workers increasingly difficult. In "Capital," Marx profoundly explained the dual connotations of industrial machines, and pointed out that the misfortune caused by machines to humans stems from "the capitalist application of machines.".In terms of the process of large-scale production by machines, driven by the logic of capitalism, machines, centering on the goal of capital proliferation, crowd out workers as the opposite of capital, making them become components of machines. This has led to the exclusion of the subjectivity of workers in the labor field, who must rely on machines to make a living, forming a formal mechanization of spatial existence;Free time and labor time are blurred, and the quantification of life becomes the standard and rule of machine production, forming the formalization of time existence;Mechanical relationships have replaced the relationships between people and become the main relationships in the labor field; The tools, knowledge, and products of workers are all transferred to machines.Individual labor activities are just a rhythm of machine activities, forming the mechanization of the labor process. These phenomena are uniformly described as the problem of labor mechanization,a derivative of the capitalist application of machines, manifested as the alienation of the overall mechanization of human beings, which is essentially the result of pulling down the opposition to capital.Entering the era of artificial intelligence, various emerging technologies have emerged, presenting an era of technological complexes represented by artificial intelligence technology. As the carrier of artificial intelligence technology, intelligent machines also carry the system integration of other new technologies. Therefore, the research on the mechanization of workers in the era of artificial intelligence must be explored from the entire technological field, and cannot be limited to the technology of artificial intelligence. The logical starting point for this part of the study is whether the problem of workers’ mechanization exists. In essence, intelligent machines have undergone revolutionary changes relative to industrial machines, but this change is essentially a technological change that has not been able to escape the dilemma of capitalist application of machines. Therefore, the issue of labor mechanization in the era of artificial intelligence extends to the issue of industrial time.At the same time, the issue of workers’ mechanization has gained new development in the context of new technologies, especially under the influence of big data technology and the Internet of Things technology closely linked to artificial intelligence technology.Based on this,by analyzing the characteristics of different technological backgrounds, three problem areas are further summarized:the development and risks of machines, social progress and crisis, and human liberation and slavery. This is the logic of the occurrence of the problem of labor mechanization in the era of artificial intelligence.Under the specific logic of occurrence, the problem of labor mechanization is manifested in three aspects:first, digital capitalism in the era of artificial intelligence, specifically embodied in digital labor, digital labor, and technological exploitation;Secondly, the risk of intelligent machines’ decontamination of human nature is embodied in the decontamination of human nature by the strong subjectivity of intelligent machines;Thirdly, the ethical issues of intelligent machine applications are embodied in user data privacy security, worker value issues, and algorithmic black boxes. Therefore,to give full play to the role of intelligent machines in promoting social progress and human liberation,it is necessary to start from three aspects:regulating the capitalist application of intelligent machines, giving play to the dynamic functions of intelligent machines, and specifying the norms for their application.Only by regulating the application of intelligent machines can this technology be truly used by human society, while avoiding potential risks and challenges. |
