Research On The Expansion And Application Of Color In Contemporary Freehand Flower And Bird Painting

The color language of Chinese painting originated from ancient pottery.Then affected by the theory of five elements,it produced the first systematic color concept of our country,namely the view of five colors.However,due to the shackles of religious thoughts such as "five colors make people blind","pure color is xuan" and "correct color is the respect",color was once lost in freehand flower-and-bird painting.Nowadays,the traditional way of setting colors can no longer satisfy the audience’s multiple aesthetic demands.Therefore,under the interaction of emerging materials,techniques,themes,forms and other aspects,contemporary painters have integrated color and aesthetic orientation,and painted a new chapter of freehand flower and bird painting with the unique signal function of color,so that it presents the characteristics of subjectivity,lyricism,emotion and so on.Guided by color,the author explores the color innovation of contemporary freehand flower-and-bird painting by combing the color concepts of traditional freehand flower-and-bird painting,analyzing the color methods of contemporary freehand flower-and-bird painting,and comparing ancient and modern freehand flower-and-bird painting,while taking into account the freehand character of pen and ink.At the same time,through the rhythm of color and artistic conception to explore their own artistic style,with the combination of theoretical research and artistic creation to strengthen the art practice.This thesis focuses on the extension of color in freehand flower-and-bird painting.Firstly,the concept source and historical process of color in freehand flower-and-bird painting are sorted out,so as to conclude the traditional color concept and explore the butterfly change of color.Secondly,by analyzing the expanded expression of color in contemporary freehand flower-and-bird painting,we learn the painter’s experience of color use and summarize the influence of different factors on the color of the picture.Finally,the theoretical research will be implemented into creative applications,and combined with one’s own artistic practice,the work will be explained from the aspects of material selection,composition,color use,etc.,to confirm the feasibility of color expansion in contemporary freehand flower and bird painting through artistic practice.
