Zhang Yanyuan’s record of temple murals in Chang’an,Luoyang and other places in the Tang Dynasty in the "Ji Liang Jing Wai Zhou Si Guan Hua Bi" is not only an extremely important material to understand the temple murals in the Tang Dynasty today,but also carries his own important artistic concepts about temple murals,famous artists’ names,evaluation standards and image classification,and these concepts are all integrated in the framework of Zhang Yanyuan’s "famous paintings of all dynasties" art history.From the perspective of art history,this paper makes a comprehensive study of "Ji Liang Jing Wai Zhou Si Guan Hua Bi",which is of great significance for us to deeply understand the situation of these Tang temple paintings selected by Zhang Yanyuan,and find out the ideas behind them.The article mainly discusses from five aspects: first,it analyzes the narrative mode of this article,and then explains its writing concept;The second is to sort out and analyze the specific sightseeing routes of Zhang Yanyuan and Beijing,and explore its sightseeing purpose on this basis;The third is to explore the selection criteria and reasons of the temples described in this chapter;The fourth is to analyze the theme,style,artistic expression of murals and the relationship between murals and the architectural space of temples,so as to clarify the painting concept behind them.Five are to discuss the relevant issues of this article in the context of the history of fine arts in the Tang Dynasty,in order to explore the understanding of the people of the Tang Dynasty about the history of fine arts.
