For Mongolian Chinese learners who have no background of Chinese Character,the writing of Chinese characters has always been a weak link in their Chinese learning.Even for intermediate learners who already have a certain foundation in Chinese,there are often all kinds of mistakes in writing Chinese characters in their daily homework.In the teaching of foreign Chinese characters,teaching in components is a relatively frequently used method in recent years.A large number of experimental studies and classroom practice have proved its good teaching effect.Therefore,this thesis aims to help foreign students reduce the burden of Chinese character learning and improve the efficiency of Chinese character learning,screening out the "high-frequency components" that are most frequently used in foreign language teaching,and conducting relevant acquisition research on Mongolian Chinese learners.Due to time and space constraints,this thesis only focuses on the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education(Primary and Intermediate Level Chinese Character Table)" and conducts relevant research on Mongolian Chinese language learners at the corresponding intermediate level.The main contents are as follows.Firstly,the thesis takes the 1800 Chinese characters in the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education(Primary and Intermediate Level Chinese Character Table)" as the object,and combines the teaching materials "Developing Chinese(Primary Comprehensive Course)" and "Developing Chinese(Intermediate Comprehensive Course)" to split the components.A total of 14high-frequency direct components and 22 high-frequency basic components are selected.The ability of high-frequency components to participate in word formation is further analyzed from two aspects: "direct-word formation frequency" and "indirect-word formation frequency".Secondly,this thesis not only analyzes the teaching situation of high-frequency components through interviews with teachers with intermediate level Mongolian Chinese learners’ teaching experience,but also collates 151 written corpora of intermediate Mongolian Chinese learners,summarizing the writing errors of high-frequency components in Chinese characters,in order to understand the students’ acquisition of high-frequency components.Combining the above two aspects,it can be seen that there are currently four main problems in students’ acquisition of high-frequency components: "insufficient teacher guidance on high-frequency components","lack of enthusiasm among foreign students in learning Chinese characters","knowledge bias mainly exists in high-frequency direct component acquisition",and "writing standardization bias mainly exists in high-frequency basic component acquisition".The reasons can be discussed from three aspects: "the complexity of Chinese characters themselves","the individual factors of students",and "the individual reasons of teachers".Thirdly,considering that the reason "the complexity of Chinese characters itself" is irresistible,and that the acquisition of students’ knowledge cannot be separated from either "external teaching methods" or "their own acquisition methods," this thesis continues to propose suggestions for the teaching and acquisition of high-frequency components from both the "teacher’s" and "student’s" perspectives.The teaching suggestions for teachers include "improving their Chinese character literacy","improving the teaching awareness of high-frequency components","providing timely and effective feedback to students","enriching teaching methods",and "paying attention to students’ psychology".Suggestions for foreign students to acquire high-frequency components include "easing their fear of difficulty","strengthening orthographic awareness",and "taking a serious attitude towards learning and exercising self monitoring ability".Finally,based on the above suggestions,this thesis combines the textbook "Developing Chinese(Intermediate Comprehensive Course)" currently used by intermediate Mongolian foreign students,and takes one of the texts as an example to design a new character class,and proposes reflections accordingly.I hope to provide effective and feasible substantive suggestions for the teaching of high-frequency components of Chinese characters for intermediate Mongolian Chinese learners,and provide new perspectives and ideas for teaching Chinese characters as a foreign language.
