As tourism marks an indispensible way to enrich people’s spiritual world.The 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stressed enriching people’s spiritual and cultural life marks the stable mission to enhance the cohesive force of Chinese nation and the cultural impact of Chinese culture in crucial link for the opening of constructing socialism next 5 years.Seeing the integration of culture and tourism industry,the study of collective memory and memorizing tourism has been becoming an important branch of the whole cultural tourism study.This study means to research the tourism in sociology with the theory of Collective Memory.As to the cultural heritage tourism,the collective memory of local residents,a sort of core tourism resource,plays a necessary role in cultivating local tourism’s potential.Besides,local cultural and historical districts are able to get properly repaired and protected by seeking the collective memory of local dwellers.In this way,local tradition and culture will be popularized widely by structuring the Collective Memory system of local residents.Therefore,how to make this system also becomes a topical issue.At present,there are relatively few studies on the construction mechanism of collective memory of residents in heritage sites and how to reconstruct the lost collective memory,this study will focus on constructing the Collective Memory system in application for the List of World Heritage of local residents with field research method,Literature research method and Interview method.This essay briefly summarize the necessity of constructing the Collective Memory system of local dwellers.Besides the essay also stresses the research of current local traditional cultural ceremony and views on itself of dwellers,revealing the extreme importance and necessity in shaping cultural identity.As a result,the memorizing ceremony for application for the List of World Heritage can be regarded as a way to build the Collective Memory system.As ceremony concludes numerous features includes Timeliness,designability,groupment and so on,in turn these features also increase Sense of participation and interaction of the travelers,which produces Aggregation,Participant boundaries,focus point and emotional transmission to raise the emotion of participants to the climax.Therefore,seeing the theory of interacting ceremony as the core of constructing the Collective Memory system in application for the List of World Heritage of local residents to awake the importance of itself.At last according to the analyzing of above-mentioned 4 elements in interaction ceremony,Through the construction of the ceremony site,the understanding and identification of the participants to the application of World heritage should be strengthened,so as to set the boundaries of the participants and construct the ritual symbols of memory of the application as the focal point,so that the collective memory and emotion of the applicants can be spread,so that the participants can reach empathy with them and construct the collective memory of the application of world heritage.And through the field research of local residents,it comes out that the lacking of Collective Memory of residents in this area and the awareness of application for the List of World Heritage and the necessity to popularize the study and the protection of cultural heritage for local dwellers with building the Collective Memory system.By studying the collective memory of residents of Pingyao Ancient City,this paper aims to build up local residents’ collective memory of applying for World heritage,understand their hometown culture,arouse the affection for their hometown,continue the cultural blood,better play the role of destination ambassador,protect and promote our cultural heritage.
