Study On Traffic Route In Taomin Area Of Tang And Song Dynasties

The Tang Dynasty was the peak of the development of the whole feudal society.As the link connecting various regions,the transportation route was an important cornerstone for the development of the relationship between the Central Plains and the border areas.In the Tang Dynasty,the Central Plains dynasty’s management of the northwest frontier was attached to the huge transportation network in the northwest.Taomin region is located in the middle and upper reaches of Taohe River,connecting Guanlong in the east,Jiuqu in the west,the Western Regions in the north,and Bashu in the south.It is an important link between the Central Plains dynasty and the northwest frontier,and also a bridgehead to build the defense system between the mainland and the border war.In terms of traffic direction,four main routes centered on Taozhou and two main routes centered on Minzhou were sorted out,Taozhou-Minzhou section is the main route of the area where Taohe River passes;Taozhou-Hezhou section is an important section of the Silk Road and an important passing point of the Tangfan Ancient Road;Taozhou-Diezhou section,from now lintan Chebagou south to the Bailong River,along the Bailong River to Diezhou area,is an important traffic boundary point from Ancient Taozhou to Shu area;From Taozhou-Jiuqu section,Guangen Town and Qiangchuancheng were once an important gateway to the land.This road is an important bridge connecting the cultural and economic exchanges between the Tang and Tibetan dynasties.Among the four routes,Taomin Road was once an important marching route for Ge Shuhan to recover the territory of Jiuqu,so it was most frequently recorded in the Tang documents.Minzhou-Weizhou section is the turning route of Taohe river Basin into Weishui river Basin,and the site along the route still remains;Minzhou-Tanzhou section has been an important passing point of Longyou area into Sichuan since ancient times,and is also an important section of Minzhou by-pass of Henan Silk Road.The traffic route of Taomin area in Tang Dynasty is an important section for tang and Tibetan to develop commercial trade and ethnic integration.In the early Tang Dynasty,in order to recover the lost territory,the battle of Tuyuhun and the battle of Shibaocheng in the middle Tang Dynasty were both historical facts of the conflict of interest between the Tang and Tibetan dynasties in Taomin region.The rise and development of tea and horse trade made the connection between Tang and Tibetan increasingly close.In the Tang Dynasty,Sogdian people People in the Helong area of the business track also involved in Taomin area.These traffic activities show the prosperity of Taomin region in the Tang Dynasty.
