Research On The Art Of Character Symbols In Chinese Installation Art

In the 1980 s,influenced by the cultural exchanges between China and the West,artists began to try to create contemporary art.They tried to find a breakthrough in China’s traditional cultural resources and find a contemporary art path suitable for China’s development.Among them,many artists take writing,a culturally representative symbol,as the medium of creation.This group of artists created the way for word to be included in visual art,influenced by their overseas studies and Western art.This group of artists’ works has generated much attention and discussion.Writing is a tool for inheriting civilization and recording history.Therefore,the appearance of text as a medium in the creation of installation art involves cultural and philosophical issues beyond the art form and artistic concept,with the purpose of conveying the artist’s ideas and thoughts.At this time,the original ideographic function of the text was weakened and the symbolic character was highlighted.The internal philosophical thinking of the text and the symbolic deconstruction of the text became the common way of installation art creation with the text as the main body.The writing of this paper will take the expression of text symbols in installation art as the research object,and explore them from the following aspects: First,the selection of text symbols in installation art is closely related to its own attributes,in order to clarify the correlation and concept between them,the author has carried out a study on this;Secondly,the introduction of words into installation art is accompanied by the development of installation art.In this respect,the article sorts out its development process and the important works of various times.Thirdly,in order to further clarify the expression form of text symbols in installation art,the author adopts the second method of Pierce’s sign thirds method to discuss the involvement of text in the creation of installation art,and analyzes the characteristics and advantages of various expression ways.Fourthly,as the writing form of language symbols,artists have various ways to create them.The author summarizes four ways after sorting out and analyzing,and finds out some problems among them.Finally,the paper analyzes the value of text in installation art,and analyzes the problems existing in the above research,as well as the inspiration of installation art creation with text as the main body in the future development of Chinese art.
