Against the backdrop of rapid technological development, communication technology has entered every aspect of people’s lives, and the invasiveness of technology has a huge impact on the daily work and life of enterprise employees. The invasion of technology into people’s fields of life has exacerbated the phenomenon of personal life resources being consumed in work, reduced personal life time, and used these resources that should belong to personal life to solve work-related problems. We refer to this situation as techno-invasion,where employees use work related technology to complete work tasks during non working hours. In the era of techno-invasion,employees need to prepare for work anytime and anywhere, resulting in blurred boundaries between their work and life. The frequent intrusion of technology into employees’ lives has had a significant negative impact on their lives. The boundary theory states that employees cross from work to life in their daily lives, which requires psychological transformation and generates interruption overload.techno-invasion is also considered one of the main challenges faced by employees in their daily lives. Therefore, this study further explores the negative impact of techno-invasion.This study starts from the boundary theory and the work demand resource theory to investigate how techno-invasion affects work life conflicts and the moderating effect of multitasking tendencies through psychological transformation and interruption overload.Boundary theory can help enterprises effectively manage multiple roles of employees, providing a new research perspective for enterprise management. The higher the job demand of a company, the higher the likelihood of employees being invaded by technology. As a result, life resources are occupied by work resources, and employees will experience work-life conflicts. This study conducted a multi time point survey on employees of enterprises with techno-invasion as the research object.A total of 471 valid questionnaires were collected, and statistical tools such as SPSS 28.0,AMOS 26.0,and Smart PLS4.0 were used to analyze and hypothesize the data. The following conclusions were finally drawn:(1)Techno-invasion positively affects psychological transformation;(2)techno-invasion has a positive impact on interrupt overload;(3)Psychological transformation positively affects work life conflict;(4)Interruption overload positively affects work life conflicts;(5)Psychological transformation plays a mediating role between techno-invasion and work-life conflicts;(6)Interruption overload plays a mediating role between techno-invasion and work-life conflicts;(7)Psychological transformation and interrupt overload play a chain mediating role between techno-invasion and work-life conflicts. The main conclusion drawn in this article is that techno-invasion positively affects work life conflicts through psychological transformation and interrupt overload. This study is based on boundary theory and work demand resource theory, which further enriches research literature on techno-invasion;Deepen the research on the internal impact mechanism of techno-invasion on work life conflicts;Expanding the boundary theory and the work demand resource theory,it provides a relatively new perspective for research on techno-invasion.In practice, this study provides effective management methods for reducing techno-invasion,helping to reduce the waste of work resources among employees in enterprises, reduce the frequency of psychological transformation and interrupt overload, and promote work life balance among employees. Finally, this study pointed out the shortcomings of the research and the prospects for future research.
