A Practice Report On E-C Translation Of 2021 Annual Report Of WBA (Excerpt) Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

Based on Skopos Theory,this practical report attempts to summarize the translation methods of English-Chinese translation of annual report texts.The report expounds the translation process of the text,the research status at home and abroad and the theoretical foundation,and analyzes and summarizes the examples from three levels: lexical,syntactic and textual level according to the translation process.It is found that the translated text contains terms and lengthy sentences.At the lexical level,the commonly used translation methods are the conversion of part of speech,such as the conversion of prepositions and adjectives into verbs;looking for equivalents of terms,which finds the equivalent of the term in the target language.At the syntactic level,the commonly used translation methods are voice conversion,which converts passive voice into active voice;addition,such as supplementary subject and predicate;omission,such as removing redundant adverbials,conjunctions,verbs,etc.At the textual level,the commonly used translation methods are conversion of order;combination,which combines two sentences with a close semantic connection;division,which cuts loose and long sentences to increase readability.The significance of this report is to summarize the translation methods of this kind of text from English to Chinese through the translation of annual reports,which will help domestic enterprises to enhance their understanding of the disclosure of annual reports of international listed companies,learn from their experience in business strategy and asset management,and speed up the pace of going abroad.
