| In 1937,the July Seven Incident broke out,and Japan began a full-scale invasion of China.At the same time as the Japanese military occupation,it quickly dispatched railway troops to repair the Pingsui Railway,and Manchurian Railway was responsible for the specific operation of the railway.The Pingsui Railway crossed Suiyuan,Shanxi,Chahar and Hebei Provinces and was of great strategic significance,and the Japanese army began to resume the operation of the Pingsui Railway after occupying the Bac Ninh Railway.In August 1937,Manchuria established the Northern Branch Affairs Bureau to manage the transportation affairs of Mongolia and North China,and to implement the strategy formulated by Japan to develop resources in North China.In 1939,in order to control the railways in the occupied areas more securely and achieve the purpose of plundering the resources of North China and controlling transportation,North China Communications Co.,Ltd.,a subsidiary of North China Development Co.,Ltd.,was formally established,and all the affairs of the North Branch Affairs Bureau were transferred to North China Communications Co.,Ltd.During the operation of the BeijingBaotou Railway,in response to the management policy of integrating Japan and Manchuria,it formulated a transportation policy that was more suitable for the implementation of North China,enhanced railway transportation capacity,and improved the efficiency of Japan’s plunder of strategic materials in North China.The enhancement of railway capacity has further accelerated the process of participation of the association in the establishment of the transportation control system in North China.The establishment of the transportation control system has enabled the formation of a transportation system centered on North China Communications Co.,Ltd.in North China,and controlled the input and output of materials along the Beijing-Baotou Line.In order to ensure the safety of the railway lines of North China Communications Co.,Ltd.,the company vigorously expanded the security department,increased the number of railway police personnel,and set up railway "love villages" along the railway line,so as to exercise political and ideological control over the people along the railway line and prevent the destruction of railway facilities by the anti-Japanese military and civilians.In this way,North China Communications Co.,Ltd.achieved political,economic,and ideological control over the Beijing-Baotou Railway and the regions along the line.This article intends to focus on the operation of the Beijing-Baotou Line by North China Communications Co.,Ltd.,explain the way in which North China Communications Co.,Ltd.operates the Beijing-Baotou Line area,and highlight the predatory nature of the company as a colonial institution.During the occupation of the Beijing-Baotou Railway by North China Communications Co.,Ltd.,transportation control was its main task,and political rule,economic plunder,and ideological control over the areas along the Beijing-Baotou Line were all colonial functions of the association.After the outbreak of the Pacific War,the limitations of transportation control were even more exposed,and the short-sightedness of economic plunder and the long-term nature of the people’s war led to the final defeat of North China Communications Co.,Ltd. |
