The continuous iterative innovation of technology has led to the remarkable development of machine translation and computer-assisted translation tools. As the interaction between technology and the traditional subjects in translation is deepening,MT+CAT+PE,a new translation model has come into being. With excellent performance in quality control and project management,it can significantly improve work efficiency, enabling the language service industry to achieve high productivity and high-quality.The source texts discussed in the report include three documents,Global Fabric Manual,Self-Declaration Laboratory Specification and Vendor Standard Operation Procedure. They describe in detail the operation processes from production to transportation and specification requirements in fabrics industry.Text features include high repetition in functional expressions, frequent use of terminology and long sentences with concise logic coherence. With the guidance of Translation Services--Post-editing of Machine Translation Output – Requirements, the translator applies MT+CAT+PE model to fulfill the translation task, following the principle of a complete and accurate delivery in information;and a logical and consistent style in expression. The report categorizes linguistic errors in the MT output with the DQF-MQM framework. They are: 1.ambiguous semantics, the mistranslation of the part of speech;2.redundant information and improper sentence sequence;3.insufficient use of coherence and referential devices. Methods like substitution, conversion of part of speech, restructuring, combination and division are applied in the post-editing session to solve these linguistic errors;and the non-linguistic errors are tackled with the assistance of tools such as Python,Photoshop and WPS.Hopefully, this report may offer some reference and benefits for those who wish to apply MT+CAT+PE model in specific translation practice.
