Taoist Ci includes Taoist Ci created by literati and Taoist Ci created by Taoist priests.Zhang Jixian was the Taoist Master of the thirtieth generation of Taoist Master Daozheng School in the late Northern Song Dynasty. The Ci he created belongs to the Taoist Ci.Zhang Jixian broke through the shackles of the previous Taoist Ci writing that only preached with Ci.He not only created Dandao Ci,but also created lyrics in the style of literati. The Complete Song Ci contains 56 of Zhang Jixian’s lyrics. This article studies Zhang Jixian’s Ci from four aspects: ideological connotation, artistic characteristics, historical significance of Ci studies, and influence. The main text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter provides an overview of the creation of Taoist Ci from the Tang Five Dynasties to the Northern Song Dynasty.Taoist Ci of the Tang Five Dynasties mainly include female articles written by literati,Taoist Ci involving female fairy imagery and immortal Taoist allusions, and some Taoist Ci in folk Dunhuang Ci.There are no Dan Dao Ci with the purpose of promoting Taoism in the late Tang Five Dynasties.Taoist Ci of the Northern Song Dynasty mainly include Taoist Ci involving the image of female fairies, and Ci expressing the idea of seclusion and the blessing of longevity in Taoist imagery or terminology.Zhang Boduan’s Dan Dao Ci is the most typical Taoist Ci in the early Northern Song Dynasty.Zhang Jixian’s Taoist Ci can be divided into three types: Ci for cultivation and persuasion,Ci for reward and reply, and Ci for scenery and lyricism, and his Ci inherited and developed the Taoist Ci of the Northern Song Dynasty. The second chapter analyzes the ideological connotations in Zhang Jixian’s Ci.In his words,Zhang Jixian expressed the idea of advocating the Tao and persuasion,as well as the compassion of saving all people from fire and water; The idea of "Cultivate both the inner and the outside" in Nei Dan,which implies that "The heart and the Tao are the same" and "Cultivate the mind and nurturing life",the idea of "Seek Tao inside the heart and seek magic outside the heart" in Lei Fa,and the idea of talisman and jiao;It expresses the philosophical thoughts on time and space, the detached and indifferent free feelings, and the leisure feeling of being intoxicated with mountains and forests. His Ci have both religious and literary meanings, enriching the meaning of Taoist Ci.The third chapter analyzes the artistic features of Zhang Jixian’s Ci.Zhang Jixian chose "cranes","turtles","gourds",and other Taoist imagery such as gods and goddesses to convey a sense of seclusion and reverence for the Tao;Choose "pine","bamboo","moon" and other otherworldly scenery imagery to create an ethereal and profound artistic conception;Good at using religious imagination and Dandan argot to describe Taoist scenes and the process of the refinement of spirit and strength; His Ci are often argumentative and philosophical,Choosing "red","green" and "gold" three colors to depict the scenery, with strong religious colors and mysterious effects;Use many oral and overlap words, and quote Zen words into the Ci,which is witty and slangy. The fourth chapter expounds the significance and influence of Zhang Jixian’s Ci in the history of Ci studies.Zhang Jixian enriched the subject content of Ci and innovated the Ci environment, which is a direct echo of Su Shi’s idea of "writting Ci by the method of writing poetry";He used Ci to promote the theory of Taoism, breaking through the barriers of " Ci used to express the love between men and women",and the traditional concept of " Ci in low status".Zhang Jixian inherited the colloquial characteristics of Liu Yong’s Ci,but also had the humorous temperament of humorous Ci,and his Ci are an important part of the popular Ci of the Northern Song Dynasty. In terms of creative techniques,Zhang Jixian’s Ci absorbed the beneficial experience of Zhang Boduan’s Taoist Ci in the early Northern Song Dynasty, and also created Ci similar to literati Ci to express emotional and philosophical thoughts arising from the confronting of natural scenes and the aspiration of escaping from common world, which had a great influence on Quanzhen Taoist Ci in the Jin Dynasty and Taoist Ci represented by Bai Yuchan in the Southern Song Dynasty.Zhang Jixian’s Ci plays a role in connecting the preceding and the following in the development course of Taoist Ci,and its value cannot be ignored.
