The Xiangjiang Battle was an important historical event in the Long March of the Chinese Red Army, which had important political and military significance. The investigation of Xiangjiang Campaign red culture has both the theoretical value of strengthening cultural confidence and the practical function of cultivating socialist core values. This article draws on "5W mode" theory and uses textual analysis, questionnaire survey, field survey, and in-depth interview to analyse the spread of red culture in the Xiangjiang Campaign in Guilin City.According to the survey, although the red culture of the Xiangjiang Campaign has a profound connotation and rich related resources, there are still a series of problems in the red culture communication of the Xiangjiang Campaign: the type of communication subject is single, the internal force is not enough, and the public’s active participation is not high; The content of communication is seriously homogenized and lacks obvious characteristics. The communication channels are scattered and the form is simple and backward.Due to the limited audience range and lack of strong interactive feedback. The author believes that it can be done from the following five points of view to solve the above problems: first, increase the quality of communicators, and retain the first pass of communicative activities; The second is to innovate the content of communication, dig deep boutique resources, build cultural brands;Third, expand the channels of communication, integrate media resources, and create an all-round,deep and three-dimensional communication matrix;Fourth, attending to the needs of the audience, capturing the psychological characteristics of the audience, and disseminating mass communications;Fifth, pay attention to the communication effect, expand the feedback channels, establish a scientific evaluation system, close contact with the masses.
