| The pairwise construction "A not X+B not Y" is a commonly used sentence pattern in modern Chinese. This article is based on a large amount of corpus, first identifying its construction and analyzing its component components. Then, from the perspectives of syntactic function, internal and overall semantic features, and subjectivity of constructions,a comprehensive examination of "A not X+B not Y" is conducted from the internal to the overall perspective, exploring its formation process, and attempting to explain and analyze it from a cognitive perspective. The conclusion is as follows:1.When "A bu X" and "B bu Y" are in a parallel relationship,"A bu X+B bu Y" is a typical example construction. The embedded components of the empty spaces "A and B" are homogeneous and mostly of a nominal nature, with noun components being the main component, followed by quantifiers and pronouns. The empty spaces "X,Y" to be embedded are mainly predicate components. The term ’no’ still restricts the semantics of ’X,Y’ as a negative adverb. However, influenced by the overall construction meaning,"bu" at this time also plays a role in positioning and marking clauses.2.The syntactic structure of the two clauses "A not X" and "B not Y" is the same, and the order of proportion of each structural type, from high to low,is the subject predicate structure ? Complement structure ? structure of modification ? Complex sentence ? The predicate object structure. The strong declarative nature is the fundamental feature of the construction as a whole.3."A not X+B not Y" has obvious symmetrical characteristics in structure, often dominated by six character and eight character formats, and the syllable characteristics of different formats are also different. The semantic composition of "A,B" and "X,Y" directly affects the establishment and overall semantic characteristics of the construction.Among them,"A,B" restricts the establishment of the construction, while "X,Y" affects the overall semantic characteristics of the construction. The construction meaning of the ’A bu X+B bu Y’ is not literal.’A,B’ are generally two typical events, action behaviors,or property states within the same or cross category.By negating the ’A bu X+B bu Y’ construction and mapping it into human cognitive categories, the semantic quantification effect can be achieved. This article is mainly divided into complete negation and complete affirmation based on whether the affirmative form of "A bu X+B bu Y" carries [+negative meaning].The completely negative meaning can be extended to high degree meaning, full negative meaning, and dilemma meaning based on the semantic relationship of "A,B";The fully affirmative meaning can be extended to both fully affirmative and dependent meanings.4.This configuration mainly exhibits a large number of features. In this structure,we take the normal quantity as the basis, and the quantity of the construction can be further subdivided into subjective quantities, subjective extrema, and subjective tensors. This article conducts a cognitive analysis of constructions from the perspective of conceptual integration.According to the classification standards of semantics and syntax, the integration level of this construction is divided into four levels: low, secondary low, secondary high, and high. However, there is ambiguity between different levels, and there is also a situation where the integration level of a construction varies in different contexts.5.The evaluation function is the obvious and main pragmatic function of the construction. One type of evaluation function is inherent in the construction itself, and the other is endowed by the context.Through quantitative statistics, this construct can represent the description and elaboration of objective things such as experiences and lessons, but it emphasizes evaluative nature and is often used for negative evaluations to express the speaker’s derogatory evaluation attitude. The formation of the structure mainly went through the period of ancient formation, middle ancient development, and recent ancient formation. |
