Chinese listening and speaking class is a new type of course to train students’ listening and speaking skills and cultivate students’ communication skills,which can help learners improve their ability to receive information and express ideas.Practice setting is an important part of the preparation of Chinese textbooks.Listening and speaking textbook exercises can obtain real feedback for teachers,and also allow students to test their learning results as they do the exercises.Hearing and speaking separately does not conform to the objective communication situation,but at present,the vast majority of colleges and universities in China still adopt separate teaching of listening and speaking,even if the listening and speaking courses are opened,the characteristics of the course type are not clear,and they are still biased towards the training of one of the skills,which is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ communication skills.In addition,through the investigation of "The Road to Success: Listening and Speaking","Introduction to Chinese Listening and Speaking" and "Intermediate Chinese Listening and Speaking",we found that there are more or less problems in the design of listening and speaking teaching materials.In view of this,this paper first analyzes the physiological and psychological basis of listening and speaking integration from a theoretical perspective,combines language skill acquisition theory,input-output theory,interaction theory and constructive learning theory to determine the characteristics of listening and speaking courses,and builds a teaching material practice mode that conforms to the integration of listening and speaking.Secondly,10 primary listening and speaking textbooks and7 intermediate listening and speaking textbooks with a wide range of use and considerable influence were selected,including listening and speaking textbooks and special listening and speaking textbooks in the series of textbooks,and the specific question types that conformed to the above mode were summarized,and the existing questionable problems were analyzed.In addition,this paper examines the form and content combination of exercises to explore their shortcomings.Through investigation,it was found that there were problems such as "too much practice of language elements","involving reading and writing training",and "too many elements entered before listening".In terms of combination,there are problems such as "improper integration of listening and speaking skills" and "lack of chain practice".Chain practice refers to the practice to have continuity,from the preparation of language elements,voice input to point of view,forming communication,the whole is a chain.Finally,according to the specific problems,some suggestions are put forward,such as "increase the communicative practice of listening and speaking teaching materials","increase the chain practice design","increase the specific content of the stem instruction",etc.
