Seeking Revival In Decline

Hankou Robin Hood Newspaper,one of Wuhan’s private newspapers,is an essential historical source for many studies on Han drama because it has much historical information,had a significant impact,and was widely read.Several studies have been done on the Robin Hood Newspaper,but the topic of this study has yet to be looked into as much as it is here.So,current academic studies show that the 1930 s to the start of New China were the worst time for the development of Han opera.The Robin Hood Newspaper was published from 1935 to 1949(it stopped between January 1938 and February 1946).This was when Han opera went downhill,so the newspaper was there to see it.Based on what was written about Han opera in Hankou Robin Hood Newspaper,what was written about Han opera in other newspapers at the same time,and the theory of Han opera research,this paper tries to show how the actors try to "revive" Han opera when it is falling out of favor.There are three chapters in this paper.In the first chapter,we talk about the history of the Han opera as it was written about in the Robin Han Newspaper.We also talk about the three types of Han opera actors,the activities of the performance repertoire,and the regular columns of Han opera that were written about in the newspaper.Based on the history of Robin Hood Newspaper,the second chapter looks at the changes in the number of actors and venues to show how the development of Han opera hit a wall.The third chapter talks about the actors of Han opera in Robin Hood Newspaper and how they tried to "revive" Han opera.It also talks about how reforms slowed Han opera’s decline during this time.The author also showed that the report on Han opera published by the Robin Hood Newspaper added to the research materials on Han opera,showed how it has survived through history,kept Wuhan’s culture alive,and gave researchers studying Wuhan’s traditional opera historical references.
