| Objectives:To investigate the current situation of nurses’ perceived stress, coping style and resilience, analyze the impact of demographic data on nurses’ perceived stress, coping style and resilience, and explore the mediating effect of coping style between nurses’ perceived stress and resilience,so as to provide a theoretical basis for improving the nurses’ resilience and implementing the targeted psychological intervention. Methods:This is a cross-sectional study.Convenience sampling was used to select nurses from four tertiary A-level hospitals in Liaoning Province between March and August 2021 as the study subjects.Nurses were surveyed using Demographic Data Questionnaire,Chinese Perceived Stress Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale.Independent samples t-test and single factor ANOVA were used to compare the differences in perceived stress, coping style and resilience of nurses with different demographic data.Pearson correlation analysis was used to investigate the related influencing factors among perceived stress, coping style and resilience of nurses.Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to explore the factors influencing the nurses’ resilience. And structural equation modeling was used to test the mediating effect of coping style.Results:1 The scores of nurses’ perceived stress, active coping, passive coping and resilience were(24.99±12.43),(24.95±9.57),(10.13±7.03),and(62.09±22.10),respectively.2 Different gender, age, marital status, education level, working years, monthly income, professional title, position, and shift form of nurses’ perceived stress were different(P <0.05).Different age, having children, working years, monthly income, and professional title of nurses’ active coping were different(P < 0.05).Different gender, age, marital status, working years, monthly income, professional title, position, and shift form of nurses’ passive coping were different(P<0.05).Different age, marital status, education level, working years, monthly income, professional title, position and shift form of nurses’ resilience were different(P<0.05).3 Nurses’ perceived stress was negatively correlated with active coping(r=-0.352,P<0.01),positively correlated with passive coping(r=0.550,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with resilience(r=-0.525,P < 0.01).Nurses’ active coping and passive coping were positively correlated(r=0.456,P<0.01)and negatively correlated(r=-0.637,P<0.01)with resilience,respectively.4 After excluding the influence of control factors, perceived stress(β=-0.216,P<0.001),active coping(β=0.235,P < 0.001)and passive coping(β=-0.505,P < 0.001)were the important influencing factors of nurses’ resilience, explaining 62.6% of the variability in resilience.5 Coping style exerted a partial mediating effect between nurses’ perceived stress and resilience. When active coping was used as the mediating variable, the mediating effect was15%,and when passive coping was used as the mediating variable, the mediating effect was40%.Conclusions:1 The nurses’ resilience level is in the medium level.2 Nurses’ perceived stress and coping style are important factors affecting resilience.3 Nurses’ perceived stress is negatively correlated with active coping, positively correlated with passive coping, and negatively correlated with resilience;nurses’ active coping and passive coping are positively and negatively correlated with resilience,respectively.4 Coping style exerts a partial mediating effect between nurses’ perceived stress and resilience. |
