From the perspective of gender order, this article traces the historical changes of Filipino women’s social status, focuses on the sacrifices and contributions of women’s participation in the Huk Movement, and analyzes the impact and changes by women’s participation in the Huk Movement on the gender order of the Philippines. In the pre-colonial era, under the cognatic system of Philippine society, the gender of male and female were relatively equal.and the social status of women was higher. In the colonial era,the colonial rule of the conquerors placed women in the subordinate position. However,Filipino women did not succumb to this secondary status, and women participated in the resistance movement during the Spanish and American colonial periods. In 1941,Japan invaded the Philippines, the PKP and radical peasant organization united formed the HUK,and launched the guerrilla war against the Japanese army in Central Luzon and Manila. After the war, class and national contradictions in Philippine society became prominent, and the Huk Movement rose again. In 1948,the Huk guerrillas changed its name to the HMB,recruited more guerrillas, and launched a large-scale violent conflict with the Philippine government.By 1954,due to the leadership errors of the PKP and the US military assistance to the Philippine government, the Huk Movement tended to disappear. In the Huk Movement,a large number of women participated in the war.In the revolutionary movement, they not only participated in the front-line struggle war,but also joined in the rear-line Medical and Health Department,Information Department,Education and Progaganda Department, and Organization and Secretaries Department to make great contributions and sacrifices. In the practice of participating in the revolutionary struggle war, their subjective consciousness began to awaken, and they began to change traditional family roles, pursue equality between male and female, actively participate in political life, and obtain the right to freedom of marriage, which challenged the traditional gender order of the Philippines. After the Huk Movement dissipated, the former Huk women fighters actively built up women’s organizations, participated in various women’s activities, continued to fight for women’s equal rights, and promoted gender equality in the practice of gender mainstreaming, and made a huge contribution to women’s liberation.
