The Shaping Of Characters In Dance Creation

Character shaping in dance choreography is not only the basic element of dance works,but also reflects the choreographer’s subjective aesthetic awareness and ideas of objective social life,which can fully reflect the background of the dance works and the spiritual outlook of the times.Therefore,how to create distinctive characters is a problem that every choreographer must solve.The author will take the creation of individual degree special dance works as a case,and through the combination of practice and theory,I will analyze and summarize the practice of character image creation in the works.This article is divided into five parts.1.An overview of the research origin,research significance,research status,and research methods.2.Starting from the concept of character image,it analyzes its role in dance works and its shaping methods.3.Taking the images of "Cardamom Years","Mid-aged" and "Old and Twilight" in the original collection "River of Time" as cases,analyzes and summarizes its creative practice.4.Reconsider the practice of character creation and creation,and put forward the functions of "life-shaped" scenario,"dance-type" action and "structural" design in the process of character creation.5.through the author’s reflection and summary of the work after the creation,I draw inspiration and problems that should be paid attention to in the creation process.
