| Hexi region,as the passage of the Silk Road,played a very important role in ancient Chinese foreign exchanges and ethnic exchanges.During the Han and Jin dynasties,hexi region had less wars,prosperous economy,stable society,and relatively concentrated population.In this area,especially in Dunhuang,Jiuquan and Zhangye,there are a large number of tombs from the Han and Jin dynasties.Up to now,about 141 horse images have been unearthed.Through comprehensive collection and arrangement,it can be found that horse images are mainly depicted and drawn on murals,bricks,wood blocks,utensils and special paper materials.In addition to the different materials depicted and drawn,horses,as typical images of tombs in the Han and Jin dynasties,arereflected in various themes of images,such as hunting,travel,animal husbandry,war scenes,reflecting the unique history and culture of Hexi region in the Han and Jin dynasties and the social style of in-depth communication and integration of ethnic groups.On this basis,combined with the literature,the reasons for the appearance of a large number of horse images in different materials and different themes are deeply analyzed and discussed,and the three cases of horse images unearthed in tombs are comprehensively and carefully analyzed.To understand and appreciate the unique and profound historical and geographical background,prosperous social and economic development and colorful cultural life of Hexi region. |
